CHINA ONE BELT, ONE ROAD
On the occasion of the welcoming of the new Ambassador
of the People’s Republic of China to Austria,
SOCIETY publisher Gertrud Tauchhammer and Ambassador
H.E. QI Mei invited to a reception under the
motto „One Belt, One Road – Connecting Past, Present
& Future“ with a keynote speech by the Ambassador
at Park Hyatt Vienna. After the welcome words by host
Gertrud Tauchhammer and Ambassador H.E. QI Mei,
Bernhard Faustenhammer, Deputy Chief of the Protocol
Department of the Ministry for European and International
Affairs addressed the guests.
Then, H.E. QI Mei held her keynote speech about
the past, present and future of the „One Belt, One
Road Initiative“, a global infrastructure development
strategy adopted by the Chinese government. A special
highlight of the evening was the handing over of
the guest gift to H.E. QI Mei, who received the famous
„Himmelsleiter“ – a symbol for hope and peace – in
miniature form and in presence of the artist Billi Thanner
and the representing gallery owner Herwig Dunzendorfer.
Afterwards, Ms. Tauchhammer received a
beautiful silk scarf from the Ambassador.
