Welcome to Austria:<br />
General Assembly<br />
On October 19th, the board and a large number<br />
of members held the 26th General Assembly of<br />
Welcome to Austria. It has been hosted by the Secretary<br />
General, Ambassador Nikolaus Marschik and took place at<br />
Minoritenplatz in downtown Vienna. Next to all facts and<br />
figures, the multiple projects, plans and activities for the<br />
new season were presented.<br />
Highlights like the guided tours through interesting exhibitions<br />
such as “Raphael. Gold and Silk” at Kunsthistorisches<br />
Museum for instance, or an invitation to the conference<br />
of Ambassador Christoph Thun-Hohenstein under the<br />
title “Imagine Dignity: Shaping Regenerative Futures” and<br />
the visit of the well-known ceramic artist Gundi Dietz are<br />
part of the program, as well as the monthly “Jour Fixe”, the<br />
walking tours along the river Danube or other green venues<br />
of Vienna and the traditional “Gansl-Essen”.<br />
Maria Kuglitsch, the vice president of Welcome to<br />
Austria, knows from her own experience abroad, how<br />
important it is to get to know culture, traditions and habits<br />
of one´s temporary host country by connecting with its<br />
people. Therefore, all spouses of official representatives<br />
are invited to join the organization.<br />

Tauchhammer, who has been one of the founders of Welcome to Austria.<br />
