El Salvador:
A top tourist destination
El Salvador can serve as an example for the international community in terms of
security, economics, employment, investment projects, and tourism. The noteworthy
growth secured by the administration of President Nayib Bukele has
produced significant advantages for Salvadoran families.

such as the economy,
health, and education take precedence
while individuals remain at the pinnacle
of all these endeavors.
This comprehensive perspective has
led to the transformation of society
through the implementation of public
policies and initiatives while increasing
national security and international
confidence.
Considering this new reality, economic
development is imperative for
our nation. Therefore, it is important to
answer the following question: What are
the advantages of visiting El Salvador?
First, it has a favorable geographical
location. Furthermore, it is a surf destination
and a nation that has adopted
Bitcoin as a legal currency. We also
have monetary stability, a stable climate,
as well as a legal framework for
tourist businesses, connectivity, public
infrastructure and, of course, we prioritize
tourism as a public policy.

Through these three
areas, we have established
the country in worldwide
markets, resulting in welfare
and opportunity for
Salvadorans, allowing them
to accomplish their life
goals in our country.
El Salvador is proud of its
flagship project “Surf City”,
which has established the country as
a significant place for international
surfing while also creating investment
opportunities for conference centers,
hotels, and amusement parks.
President Nayib Bukele’s administration
has adopted an important
tourist strategy, giving life to “Surf
City” and elevating our beaches worldwide
by hosting not one but two major
events on our shore.
Thus, El Salvador is currently recognized
as a global hub for board sports,
and therefore, we’ve had the opportunity
to host specialized and worldclass
competitions in this sport.
All these accolades contribute to
economic development through tourism.
As a result, we have had more than
1.892.000 tourists in 2022, a 7% rise in
this area.
Moreover, El Salvador also promotes
mountain tourism and coffee production,
especially exports of our golden
bean. We regularly hold sample and
tasting events of our national product
to present the exquisite flavors and
fragrances of the numerous varieties of
coffee cultivated in Salvadoran lands,
with the hope of consolidating business
opportunities with these companies
and building partnerships for the
promotion of this agricultural produce.
El Salvador aims for inclusive and
sustainable economic growth by building
resilient infrastructure, promoting
tourism and innovation, reducing inequalities,
creating productive employment,
and developing sustainable
cities and communities, all while protecting
the environment and natural
resources.
As the Embassy of El Salvador in
Austria, we are working to strengthen
bilateral, economic, and trade relations,
as well as to develop bridges for
the benefit of our people.

work to be done, but we are in the right
direction to develop new initiatives
that will help us to grow as a nation.
