The Commuter - Where are the British Virgin Islands<br />
located and how do I get there?<br />
RaeNisia Scatliffe - The BVI are a British Overseas<br />
Territory located in the north-eastern Caribbean. There<br />
are direct flights to the BVI from Miami and you can<br />
easily fly in to the BVI from Europe or the USA, but you<br />
can easily fly to and from major Caribbean airport hubs.<br />
You can also arrive by private boat or ferry, via the USVI,<br />
giving you a breath-taking first impression.<br />
<strong>TC</strong> - What is the climate like and when is a good time<br />
to visit?<br />
RS - The BVI have a tropical climate that is consistently<br />

The Commuter - Où sont situées les îles Vierges britanniques<br />
et comment puis-je m’y rendre ?<br />
RaeNisia Scatliffe - Les îles Vierges britanniques sont un<br />
territoire britannique d’outre-mer situé au nord-est des<br />
Caraïbes. Il y a des vols directs vers les îles vierges britanniques<br />
depuis Miami. Vous pouvez facilement voyager aussi depuis<br />
et vers les principales plates-formes aéroportuaires des<br />
Caraïbes. Vous pouvez également arriver par bateau privé ou<br />
par le ferry, via les îles vierges américaines, pour une première<br />
expérience à couper le souffle.<br />

pour visiter les îles Vierges britanniques ?<br />

<strong>TC</strong> - Which islands are the best to visit and for how<br />
long?<br />
RS - The BVI comprise approximately 60 islands and<br />
cays, but we recommend starting with the main four:<br />
Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Jost Van Dyke. We<br />
suggest a minimum of a week to truly immerse yourself<br />
in some of these unique places. Being close in proximity, if<br />
you cleverly plan your itinerary, you can enjoy breakfast,<br />
lunch and dinner on different islands.<br />
<strong>TC</strong> - What is there to see and do?<br />
RS - There is an abundance of activities in the BVI, from<br />
horseback riding, hiking through rain forest to nautical<br />
sports and sailing; or you can simply relax on pristine<br />
beaches and bask in turquoise waters.<br />
You can delve into the islands’ history just by wandering<br />
along the age-old streets or you can admire the stunning<br />
nature in the national parks. And geology comes alive at<br />
The Baths, an outstanding natural wonder where you<br />
can explore huge boulders, deep caverns and crystal<br />
clear rockpools. You may also be lucky to experience a<br />
local culture festival or culinary event.<br />
<strong>TC</strong> - What wildlife can visitors expect to see?<br />
RS - The waters of the BVI are rich in coral reefs and<br />

pourrez prendre votre petit-déjeuner, votre déjeuner et votre<br />
dîner sur différentes îles.<br />

RS - Les IVB regorgent d’activités : équitation, randonnées<br />
dans la forêt tropicale, sports nautiques et navigation à la<br />
voile. Vous pouvez également vous détendre sur des plages<br />
immaculées et vous prélasser dans une mer turquoise.<br />
Vous pouvez également revivre l’histoire des îles en vous<br />
promenant dans leurs rues séculaires ou admirer la nature<br />
chatoyante du Parc national. La géologie prend vie à<br />
The Baths, merveille de la nature où l’on peut admirer de<br />
gigantesques rochers, explorer de profondes cavernes ou<br />
des bassins de roche cristallins. Vous aurez peut-être aussi<br />
la chance de participer à un festival culturel local ou à une<br />
