As reservations director and safety manager at
St Barth Commuter, where she has worked for 19
years, Alexandra Lédée would not change a single
thing about her wonderful voyage as part of the
company.
was an unknown universe for me, but
which piqued my interest immediately,” says
“Aviation
Alexandra Lédée, who was born and raised
in Saint Barthélemy and went to school in Guadeloupe
before moving back to the island of her childhood. In
July 2004, she joined the staff at St Barth Commuter,
which had taken flight just 10 years earlier. That was
the beginning of a rewarding career for Alexandra
Lédée, who started as a reservations agent and is now
reservations director and safety manager at the airline.
Handling reservation requests for charters and regular
flights, as well as modifications, cancellations reminders,
complaints, and flight schedule management under
today’s very strict regulations—without counting the
many administrative tasks related to her job: ‘Reservation
services is a very varied job,’ explains Alexandra Lédée.
A list of responsibilities made even longer by her role as
safety manager, for which Alexandra Lédée was welltrained
to plan employee security training programs,
St Barth Commuter, fondée seulement dix ans auparavant.
monitor the renewal of training goals, manage requests
for security badges for staff access to the entire airport…
and finally, management of all vehicles on the runway.
‘It’s this diversity of tasks that makes my job so rewarding,’
she says.
Her proudest moment at St Barth Commuter? “I think
having contributed to the evolution of the reservation
service,” she notes. “I was able to participate in its
evolution.” Two of these essential improvements at St
Barth Commuter were the development of its own
reservation system, and the possibility to purchase
tickets online, via the company website, which was not
possible when Alexandra Lédée first arrived at the airline.
“Another big change: the evolution of the fleet of aircraft
with the Piper Aztec, Britten Norman Islander BN2, and
now the Cessna Grand Caravan,” she adds.
When questioned about the recent challenges of the
pandemic for St Barth Commuter, Alexandra Lédée
replies: “that period was very complicated for the
company, but we were lucky to have been able to adapt
our activity with the help of modern, cutting-edge digital
technology, which allowed us, in terms of the reservations
service, to maintain our passenger assistance with a
relatively short response time, even working remotely
when it was necessary.”
Alexandra Lédée’s favorite memories working at St Barth
Commuter? “There were so many in 19 years… it would be
complicated to choose just one. There are lots of small
moments, such as the simple sharing of king’s cakes
and end of the year holidays, and the 20th anniversary
celebration for St Barth Commuter in 2015, which remains
a great memory.”
souvenir. »
