The Commuter - What can we find in your restaurant / wine
bar ?
Julie - Surprisingly...Wine. And... of course our delicious meal
made with top quality products according to arrivals, mood
and fancies ! I settled on St Barth almost 7 years ago and I
purchased the wine bar. I was originally born in Bordeaux and
the idea was to bring in St Barth a little piece of France through
wine or gastronomy.
TC - What kind of wines and what is so special about them ?
J - In We have the Wine Library with its 350 references. We
invite our clients to explore and search for the bottle that will
satisfy their thirst. They can also let themselves be guided by
our dream team. And I am always there for those who seek
guidance, stories and tips. We love to make people try new
wines almost through wine tasting rather than losing them to
cépages and designations. I think this definitely is a particular
line of approach, almost didactic, allowing us to get off the
beaten tracks. Wine is above all a matter of passion & sharing…
TC - What do you like to say to people that never been to
your wine bar ?
J - Join “le papillon family” and discover a little piece of France,
our secret place, our little gem for foodies & wine lovers in the
Heart of St Jean ! It might appear quite original to come on
a paradise island such as St Barth and allow yourself a little
escapade “à la Française”.
The Commuter - Que commande-t-on dans votre
restaurant/bar à vin?
Julie - Étonnamment... du vin. Et... bien entendu, notre
savoureux menu élaboré à partir de produits de première
qualité au gré des arrivages, des humeurs et des caprices!
Je me suis installée à Saint-Barth il y a près de 7 ans et ai
acheté le bar à vin. Née à Bordeaux, l’idée était d’apporter
à St Barth un petit morceau de France au travers du vin ou
de la gastronomie.
TC - Quels types de vin y trouve-t-on et qu’ont-ils de
particulier ?
J- Nous mettons à disposition une bibliothèque des
vins riche de 350 références. Nous invitons nos clients à
l’explorer et dénicher la bouteille qui les comblera. Ceux-ci
peuvent également se laisser guider par notre équipe de
passionnés. Et je reste toujours à la disposition de celles
et ceux qui rechercheraient des recommandations, des
histoires et des conseils. Nous aimons faire découvrir aux
gens des vins nouveaux, essentiellement au travers de la
dégustation, plutôt que de les perdre dans les cépages
et les appellations. Je pense qu’il s’agit là d’une approche
singulière, presque didactique, qui nous permet de sortir des
sentiers battus. Le vin est avant tout une affaire de passion
et de partage…
TC - Que souhaiteriez-vous dire à ces personnes qui
n’auraient jamais mis les pieds dans votre bar à vin ?
