4972 Merlot, DOC Montello Colli Asolani 2006 8 8 Spicy. Quite modest weight. Attractive fig-like nose. Modest
palate, but persistent.
4973 Cabernet, DOC Montello Colli Asolani 2006 7 8 A quick whiff of pepper and a shock of blackcurrant. Medium
tannin. Not much fruit acidity. Don’t lay this away. Drink within
two years.
PUGLIA
Inside the instep of Italy’s southern coastline, these are huge wines laden with extract; often clumsy, but full of fruit with a good tannic structure.
4974 Negroamaro, IGT Salento, Terre d’Uva 2007 8 8 Wines scarcely come darker and, in some ways, that
means concentration. It is sweet fruit and black pigment.
Drink anytime, but enjoy this year.
4975 Primitivo, IGT Salento, Terre d’Uva 2007 8 8 For an inexpensive wine, it has a mass of extract and concentration,
but it is good already with food like stews and hotpots.
4976 Salice Salentino Riserva, Doc, Terre d’Uva 2006 7 8 Very fine. Good integration of all the parts. Enjoy at your own
time and place.
4977 Primitivo di Manduria, DOC, Terre d’Uva 2007 7 8 Dark black. A medley of blackberry fruit.
4978 Nottetempo, Chardonnay, IGT Salento, 2008 8 8 Even now, this is showing early signs of moving too quickly.

4979 Cypraea, DOC Salice Salentino, 2008 8 8 Big colour. Will delight members who look for weighty
Le Vigne di Sammarco structure.
4980 Pecten, IGT Salento, 2008 8 8 Quite tough, the fruit is lingering behind the tannin/acidity
Le Vigne di Sammarco in the palate. Leave for a year.
4981 Bisso, Salice Salentino, DOC, Riserva, 2006 7 7 Well integrated. Can be enjoyed immediately.

4983 Etra, Primitivo, IGT Salento 2007 7 8 Mighty colour. Big fruit. Solid.
4984 Amigdala, DOC Aleatico di Puglia, 2007 8 8 Massive. Let it get closer to harmony.
Natural Sweet Drink from 2012 onwards.
4985 Pinot Grigio, DOC Alto Adige, 2008 9 9 Abolutely no good reason to wait. Enjoy this year.

Well made.
4987 Pinot Noir, DOC Alto Adige, Prendo, 2006 8 8 Good colour. Not a big wine, but very pure flavours.

DOC Vallée d’Aoste, Cave du Vin Blanc than Italy, but it is a delightfully typical mountain wine. Lots
de Morgex & de La Salle of freshness and easy fruit.
4990 Gavi San Pietro, DOCG, Tenuta San Pietro 2008 8 8 Fine wine, but as it ages it will go through a difficult period
where it tastes like old apricots. So, don’t wait. Enjoy it in its
youthful format.
4991 Dolcetto d’Alba, DOC, Vaben, 2008 7 8 Chill it and serve on a hot day. Enjoy the vivid fruit and
Cantina Terrenostre high level of acidity. Really refreshing.
4992 Barbera d’Alba, DOC, Ajé, 2007 6 7 Very good. Modest structure, but all together.

4994 Barbaresco, DOCG, Cantina Terrenostre 2005 6 6 Lovely. A good example of the Piedmont reds. Very attractively
balanced.
