Lot # Wine Year M D Comment
4860 Opimian Single Quinta, “Agua Alta” 1998 n/a n/a Rich, fat and full of the unique taste of the Douro. Well on
- 4861 Vintage Port [Wooden Case] the way to complete maturity, it can be opened now that its
tannins have significantly ripened and softened.
4862 Churchill Estates Rosé, DOC Douro 2007 9 10 Perhaps this is too big to enjoy in a typical, light, everyday
fashion. Use it with a meal; it is great with pasta. Mature.
4863 Vinha do Meio Queijo, DOC Douro 2006 7 7 This is, amazingly, the “second” wine of Churchill, but it is big,
refined and represents the fine quality of the Douro table
wines.
4864 Churchill Estates, DOC Douro 2007 6 7 Big, bold and brazen. A very full-bodied charmer.
4865 Crémant d’Alsace, Calixte Brut, N.V. 10 10 A very fine sparkling wine, it is fully ready now.
AOC Alsace Crémant
4866 Sylvaner Réserve, AOC Alsace 2007 8 9 Fragrant. Modest nose. Charming light palate. Drink now.
4867 Riesling Réserve, AOC Alsace 2007 7 7 Rapier clean, attractive nose. Typically Alsace, finely drawn
palate features.
4868 Muscat Réserve, AOC Alsace 2007 8 8 Powerful bouquet. Rather flat in the mouth. Finishes quite
short.
4869 Gewürztraminer Réserve, AOC Alsace 2007 7 7 Will continue to grow and develop the particularly pungent/
peachy flavours of Alsace Gewürz.
4870 Pinot Blanc, Médaille d’Or Mâcon, 2007 7 7 Lovely now. Quite ready.
AOC Alsace
4871 Pinot Gris, Médaille d’Or Colmar, 2006 7 8 Shows the difference in performance between the
AOC Alsace grape from Italy and this one from Alsace. This is full and
quite dry.
4872 Riesling, Lieu-dit Silberberg, AOC Alsace 2005 8 8 Very fine wine of a great year. Ready now.
4873 Riesling, Grand Cru, Schoenenbourg, 2007 7 7 Great wine. Fine Riesling nose. Flavours as sharply defined
AOC Alsace Grand Cru as a needle point.
4874 Pinot Gris, Grand Cru, Rosacker, 2007 7 7 Fine, but still a little dumb. Will open further and offer
AOC Alsace Grand Cru more character.
4875 Gewürztraminer, Grand Cru, 2006 6 7 A scintillating wine of great authority. Ready to start
Schoenenbourg, AOC Alsace Grand Cru opening bottles now.
4876 Pinot Noir, Médaille d’Or Colmar, 2007 8 9 Not enough weight to see this develop much further.
AOC Alsace
4880 Coeur des Lanciers Blanc, N.V. 9 10 Still surprisingly good.
Vin de Table Français
4881 Coeur des Lanciers Rosé, N.V. 10 10 There was never any point in delaying the enjoyment of
Vin de Table Français this small wine. Finish any remaning bottles soon.
4882 Coeur des Lanciers Rouge, N.V. 10 10 Should have been consumed by now.
Vin de Table Français
4883 Mâcon-Lugny Blanc, AOC, Grande Terre 2008 8 8 Delicious. It has taken on the smooth, creamy characters that
mark out good southern Burgundy Chardonnay.
4884 Pouilly-Fuissé, AOC, Vieilles Vignes 2008 8 8 A golden wine in many ways. Lovely at the present time -
January 2010 - but it can safely be stored.
4885 Beaujolais Rouge, AOC, Les Genetières 2008 7 9 Good vintage. Fine selection. Enjoy now.
4886 Beaujolais Villages, AOC, Vieilles Vignes 2008 8 9 This is a fine wine that can be left for a couple of years, but
there is little advantage in doing so.
