4654 El Molinet, DO Valencia, 2006 8 8 One of the finest Valencia wines we have ever tasted.<br />

La Viña, La Font de la Figuera Spicy shrubs and wild berry fruit.<br />

4655 Solar de Sael, DO Bierzo 2006 8 9 Typical red Spanish grape: deep colour, raucous tannins that<br />

threaten to rip out tooth fillings, but it a mass of succulent fruit<br />

that gives appeal.<br />

4656 Ellinze, Vino de la Tierra de Castilla 2006 8 8 This is a real rough and tumble affair. Bright red fruit in colour<br />

and flavour. Acidic, showing full notes of mulberry and bilberry.<br />

4657 Comenge, DO Ribera del Duero 2005 7 8 Very tough. The tannins appear to be drawn as tight as a bow<br />

string with a mass of fruit waiting to get out and soften the<br />

palate. Put it away for at least another year until 2011 and<br />

beyond.<br />

4658 Arbucala, DO Toro, Bodegas Valduero 2005 7 8 Although the Bodega is from a different region, the<br />

winemaking is the same - assured, skillful and seamless.<br />

Ready but it can be cellared for several years.<br />

4659 Fornas Friulano, DOC Friuli Grave 2007 10 10 Lasting well beyond original assessment, it really does need to<br />

be drunk now.<br />

4660 Sartiano, IGT Umbria, Bigi SCARL, 2005 9 9 A blend, but it seems to have no focus on harmony as all<br />

Orvieto of the component grapes still appear separate.<br />

4661 Il Sodero, IGT Maremma Toscana, 2006 8 8 Lovely, big red beauty. Massed ranks of fruit line up to please.<br />

4662 La Sala, DOCG Chianti Classico 2006 8 9 From the best territory in Tuscany, the region of Chianti<br />

Azienda Agricola La Sala Classico. The Sangiovese has fine smoke and leather notes,<br />

superimposed on supple red fruit flavours. Delicious wine.<br />

4663 Wild Fig, Clovelly Triangle Estate, 2008 9 10 Perfect, a shot in the arm. Lively flavours.<br />

4664 The Berry, Clovelly Triangle Estate, 2007 10 10 Jacques Fourie put this together for early enjoyment,<br />

Devon Vale so please do enjoy it now.<br />

4665 Chardonnay, Rozier Bay, Mount Rozier 2007 8 9 Produced from fruit grown water stressed vines on Adam<br />

Mauerberger’s steeply sloping vineyard, this is beautifully<br />

concentrated.<br />

4666 Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon, 2004 8 10 Pungent, though soft. A song of red berries, blossom and<br />

Rozier Bay, Mount Rozier hints of eucalyptus. A wine to delight soon. Drink this year.<br />

4667 Pinotage, Rozier Bay, Mount Rozier 2006 8 8 As rich and ripe as this grape can be. Good acidity, it is really<br />

good drinking now.<br />

4668 Zidela Rosé, Zidela <strong>Wine</strong>s 2008 10 10 Lovely. A wine to lighten the spirits. Quaff at will from a large glass.<br />

4669 Zidela Merlot, Zidela <strong>Wine</strong>s 2007 9 9 Balanced and poised. Shows the effect of the terroir and skill<br />

of the winemaker. Very good wine and good now.<br />

4670 Zidela Cabernet Sauvignon/ 2007 9 9 Tightly drawn, the tannins are still rough and the acidity high.<br />

Merlot/Petit Verdot, Zidela <strong>Wine</strong>s Wait a bit for it all to soften up.<br />

4671 Revelation, Mellasat, 2005 9 9 Initially this had a very high level of fruit acid. That has gone<br />

Dekker’s Valley Range and it is very easy, supple and rich.<br />

4672 Pinotage, Deza Collection 2007 8 8 Not bland, but it is at the lesser end of Cape complexity. Easy,<br />

enjoyable now, but it will not leave a memory.<br />

4673 Boschetto Rosso, Stellekaya <strong>Wine</strong>ry 2005 8 8 Big red scrapper. Fills the mouth with powerful fruit and leaves<br />

it with an endless grip of tannin.<br />

4674 Cape Cross, Stellekaya <strong>Wine</strong>ry 2005 7 8 A clever, well made and easy to like blend of red fruit flavours<br />

with leathery tannic notes. Good now, will last.<br />

4675 Hercules, Stellekaya <strong>Wine</strong>ry 2006 7 9 Named after a southern constellation, it shows the power of<br />

well selected ripe fruit when carefully matched with oak tannins.<br />
