Cellar Offering 183
4598 Morningsun Vineyards Cabernet 2003 10 10 Fully mature, soft and pliable. Still good fruit.
Sauvignon, Lake Country
4599 Opimian California White N.V. 10 10 No longer much fun, as much of the freshness has gone.
4600 Butterfly Ridge Chardonnay, 2007 9 9 Should have been opened by now, even so it is still a
Central Coast good glass of vino.
4601 Granada Creek Vermentino, Carneros 2006 8 8 Recently tasted. It was delicious, but has completed its
pathway to maturity.
4602 Butterfly Ridge Zinfandel Rosé 2007 10 10 Much of the vigour has gone and, unless it has been kept
cool, it will be dull and lack-lustre.
4603 Opimian California Red N.V. 10 10 Jolly good a year ago, it is still OK, but should be used quickly.
4604 Granada Creek Syrah 2007 8 9 Drinking nicely. Good fruit. Warm and soft.
4605 Butterfly Ridge Merlot, Lake County 2006 8 8 Good spice. Balanced, nice wine.
4606 Butterfly Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon, 2006 8 8 Well structured, soft, easy and absolutely ready.
Central Coast
4607 Butterfly Ridge Zinfandel, 2006 8 9 Still a delicious wine. It reflects well upon the vineyard.
Clockspring Vineyard
4608 Riverview Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 7 7 Lovely wine. Luscious fruit with a fine buzz of tannin to add
to mouth-feel and interest.
4610 “Pure” Chardonnay, Monterey 2007 9 9 Categorized as “Pure” by the winemaker – it is exactly that.
Fine varietal flavours.
4611 “Pure” Cabernet Sauvignon, Lake County 2007 8 8 You get what it says on the tin: Pure and Cabernet; lovely,
but still improving.
4612 “Pure” Merlot, Lake County 2007 8 8 Fine bouquet. Quite spicy. Liquorice and fruit. Nuances of
bell-pepper.
4613 “Red X”, California 2006 8 8 This is a “cracking” blend. It is enjoyable now, while continuing
to develop in the bottle.
4614 Nova Vineyard, Zinfandel, Lake County 2006 8 9 Still very drinkable, but needs no more time.
4615 X Winery, Merlot, Napa Valley 2005 8 8 In spite of its years, it is still youthful, full of lively fruit and
lovely floral notes.
4616 “X3” Cabernet Sauvignon, Tri-County 2006 6 7 Great structure. Like the Christmas turkey, it is full of fruit stuffing.
4617 X Amicus Reserve, Napa Valley, 2006 8 9 Fine. A wine that shows the calibre of the fruit and the artistic
Founder’s Choice hands behind the winemaking.
4618 Merlot, Napa Valley 2005 7 8 Very fine. Ready, but it still has the puff to keep it alive for
several more years.
4619 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 2004 7 7 This is typical Burgess wine – full of ripe fruit, still looks
young, still acts like an adolescent, but it is destined to be a
fine adult.
4620 Enveiere, Napa Valley 2001 7 8 Wonderful wine. All together, big sunny fruit, packed with
concentrated flavour.
4621 Allison, Sauvignon Blanc, Lake County 2007 10 10 Don’t wait any longer.
4622 Cabernet Sauvignon, Stags Leap, 2005 8 8 A typical Stelzner wine, full of fruit juice. Strongly aromatic
Napa Valley with a mass of convivial smooth tannins.
4623 Cabernet Franc, Stags Leap, Napa Valley 2005 8 8 Although not a typical Cab. Franc, it is a typical Steltzner
block-buster. Big, full-bodied and delicious.
4624 Estate RMS Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 6 7 At last, it is now showing some softening and the onset
Reserve Barrel Select of maturity. A great wine of outstanding weight.
4627 Stone Valley Chardonnay 2007 10 10 Perfect. Balanced with clean fruit.
