3969 Château Chante-Alouette, 2005 9 9 A regular on many Opimian Cellar Offerings because it<br />

AOC Fronsac always offers great value.<br />

3970 Château Moulin des Laurets, 2005 8 8 Deliciously ready.<br />

AOC Puisseguin Saint-Émilion<br />

3971 Château Vieux Clos Saint-Émilion, 2004 9 9 A château Opimian has followed in many vintages since<br />

AOC Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 1975. It is still a super producer.<br />

3972 Château Le Conseiller, 2004 8 9 One of the extraordinary wines from the cellar of Janoueix.<br />

AOC Bordeaux Supérieur Like all of his wines, it is both complex and concentrated.<br />

3973 Château Hortevie, 2004 8 8 Another long term favourite, Hortevie has now built a large<br />

AOC Saint Julien, Cru Bourgeois and international following. Very fine balance and harmony.<br />

3974 Château l’Enclos, AOC Pomerol 2003 9 9 Sheer delight. Rich, powerful and filled with soft fruit notes.<br />

3975 Château Haut Batailley, AOC Pauillac 2004 8 8 One of the great classified growths of Bordeaux. Owned and<br />

produced by Xavier Borie, the wine has great elegance, weight<br />

and supple complexity. Keep a bottle or two for a special day.<br />

3976 Château Berliquet, AOC Saint-Émilion 2003 9 9 Very big. Soft, attractive and drinkable.<br />

Grand Cru<br />

3977 Château Gloria, AOC Saint Julien 2004 9 9 This supple wine personifies the flexibility and class of the<br />

wines from the village Saint Julien. Now that the flavours are<br />

softening, it is time to open the bottles.<br />

3978 Château Poujeaux, 2003 8 9 Firm, strong and quite stalky. Blackcurrants with spinachy<br />

AOC Moulis-en-Médoc green leaves, smoke and earthy mushrooms.<br />

3979 Château Ferriere, AOC Margaux, 2004 8 8 A lesser known classified château from Margaux. Initially very<br />

Cru Classe fruity and soft, then there is the intrusive dryness of tannin.<br />

3983 Château Moulin de l’Esperance, 2005 9 10 Lovely, small wine. Neat, well structured. All of the fruit tastes<br />

AOC Premières Côtes Blaye together with the easy ripe tannin.<br />

3984 Château Roustaing, AOC Bordeaux 2005 8 8 Very typically Cabernet. Slow to mature, it still shows some<br />

roughness. There is real substance and volume of fruit.<br />

3985 Château de Fontenille, AOC Bordeaux 2005 10 10 Fresh, yet ready. The weight of the cherry flavours indicates<br />

that this is a fine example of the influence of Cabernet Franc<br />

on the palate.<br />

3986 Château Haut Nadeau, 2004 9 9 Very fine vineyard and winery have produced a fine flavour<br />

AOC Bordeaux Supérieur with a charming bell-pepper and cassis emphasis.<br />

3987 Château Carsin, 2005 9 9 In the many years since Mandy Jones made her first vintage<br />

AOC Premières Côtes de Bordeaux here, the property has never made a poor wine. This is huge,<br />

one of the best, and now it is perfect for drinking.<br />
