Investor Deck October | 2023

Executive summary
Founded in 2024, Beyond Sustainable Tech is a pioneering technology company committed to transforming the biochar sector by developing and commercializing a robust portfolio of
intellectual property (IP). Our holistic approach considers the entire value chain, from biomass management—where we’ve planted over 100 million trees—to the creation of carbon-negative
building materials.
Our Mission:
IP Development: Innovating a diverse portfolio centered on biochar and its transformation into cutting-edge products.
Process Risk Mitigation: Reducing risks by applying our IP across various applications, with a primary focus on the infrastructure and real estate sectors.
Commercialization: Bringing our IP to market through strategic licensing agreements with established corporate partners, seamlessly integrating our solutions into existing production lines.
Business Model - Phase 1 (year 1-3)
In our first phase of growth, we adopt an asset-light business model, enabling rapid expansion to meet the significant market demand for our IP. This phase has already seen the successful
launch of EZBlock, a carbon-negative alternative to traditional construction materials. EZBlock is now trusted by nearly 1,000 restaurants in Toronto, contributing to substantial environmental
benefits by reducing carbon emissions and waste. In addition, we have a suite of other biochar-enhanced products ready for market introduction through licensing agreements, including
biochar-based moldings, insulation panels, and fire-resistant boards.
Business Model - Phase 2 (year 3-5)
Anticipating exponential demand for high-quality biochar due to its critical role in atmospheric carbon removal, we are preparing for Phase 2 of our expansion. This phase involves developing
biochar plants through separate Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs), with construction financed by selling high-quality biochar carbon removal (CDR) credits. Biochar is poised to play a pivotal
role in the medium-durability carbon removal market, bridging the gap between more affordable solutions like afforestation and higher durability methods such as Direct Air Capture (DAC). By
leveraging empirical data to validate its effectiveness, we will ensure our biochar projects meet stringent criteria for additionality and sustainability, providing reliable carbon removal solutions
that align with the Net-Zero 2030 goals of major corporations like Microsoft, Google, and Apple, with whom our CEO has a proven track record.
Long-Term Vision:
Our long-term vision is to industrialize these innovations by creating related businesses, each with distinct Capex and Opex financing plans. Our future expansion will focus on developing a
comprehensive suite of value-added IP, aiming to revolutionize construction materials globally—addressing the pressing environmental challenges and the housing crisis facing our world
today.
Finding solutions to major problems
Carbon Emissions
Problem: The construction sector contributes to
39% of global CO2 emissions.
Solution: Beyond Sustainable Tech’s products
integrate biochar to significantly remove these
emissions.
Landfill Waste
Sourcing Feedstock
Carbon Dioxide Removals (CDR)
Problem: Construction and demolition
generate about 50% of global landfill
waste.
Solution: Our use of non-recyclable
materials in composites diverts waste
from landfills.
Problem: Securing consistent, high-quality
feedstock for biochar production can be
challenging.
Scaling carbon-negative products through innovation
EZ-Block:
The EZ-Block is a versatile, reusable building block designed for temporary
installations like festivals, events, and restaurant terraces. Initially made from
wood and Grip Metal velcro, it has been adopted by nearly 1,000 Toronto
restaurants.
In phase two, we aim to replace the wood with biochar-based material,
enhancing carbon capture, extending the block's lifespan, and incorporating
non-recyclable plastics to reduce waste and lower production costs.
EZ-Block not only cuts emissions but also serves as a powerful marketing tool,
showcasing our climate solutions at high-profile events, helping drive rapid
growth and public awareness.
Insulation panels
Our biochar insulation panels are designed to offer superior thermal performance while
actively reducing carbon emissions. These panels are made using biochar, a
carbon-negative material that not only insulates buildings efficiently but also captures
and stores carbon, contributing to a more sustainable built environment.
In addition to their thermal efficiency, our panels can incorporate non-recyclable plastics,
reducing waste and production costs. This innovation provides an eco-friendly,
cost-effective solution for the construction industry, helping lower energy consumption
while addressing the growing demand for sustainable building materials.
Moldings:
Our biochar moldings provide an eco-friendly alternative to traditional moldings,
combining durability, high performance, and a reduced carbon footprint. Made
from biochar, they capture and store carbon while offering enhanced strength
and longevity compared to conventional materials.
Leveraging our technology, these moldings can also incorporate non-recyclable
materials such as plastics, helping reduce waste and lower production costs.
This innovation aligns with our commitment to sustainable, accessible solutions,
meeting the construction industry's demand for environmentally responsible
materials.
Fire-resistant boards
lOur fire-resistant boards offer unmatched safety with a flame spread rating of zero,
making them a superior alternative to traditional metal doors and fire-resistant walls.
Made from biochar, these boards provide robust fire protection while capturing and
storing carbon, contributing to a safer and more sustainable environment.
Beyond fire protection, our technology allows the incorporation of non-recyclable
materials like plastics, reducing waste and lowering costs. Ideal for high-risk areas, these
boards represent a cutting-edge solution for fire-resistant construction, offering both
safety and sustainability for modern building projects.
Beyond Sustainable Tech doesn't provide just an engineered product; it offers a roadmap to a more sustainable future. Our technology is the catalyst,
and its potential applications are the boundless opportunities it can create. The future knows no bounds with Beyond.
Why Biochar?
? Biochar: A Keystone of Sustainable Innovation at Beyond Sustainable Tech
Biochar, a key element in both ancient agriculture and modern sustainability, represents more than just a material—it's a cornerstone of our
commitment to environmental health. This carbon-rich substance is created by pyrolyzing plant matter in an oxygen-free environment.
Unlike burning, pyrolysis transforms biomass into a stable form of carbon, effectively trapping the carbon absorbed from the atmosphere
and preventing its release back into the air.
● Carbon Sequestration: Captures and stores up to 2.6 billion tons of CO2 annually.
● Soil Health: Boosts crop yields by up to 30% and reduces fertilizer use by 50%.
● Waste Reduction: Converts 1.4 billion tons of organic waste into valuable products.
