publicity measures. In addition to<br />
an artistically designed trophy, the<br />
winning project receives prize<br />
money of 20,000 Swiss francs, with<br />
second and third places each<br />
receiving 5,000 Swiss francs.<br />
Coaching and mentoring<br />
The coaching and mentoring<br />
programs have proven to be particularly<br />
attractive for Swiss Innovation<br />
Challenge participants. These<br />
are available to participants free of<br />
charge, and they can continue to<br />
use the seminars even if they drop<br />
out of the competition.<br />
Successful project<br />
Since its launch in 2014 and first<br />
run in 2015, the Swiss Innovation<br />
Challenge has supported more than<br />
850 projects, contributed to the<br />
creation of more than 1650 jobs,<br />
and awarded more than 650,000<br />
Swiss francs in prize money and<br />
mentoring services.<br />

In industrialized countries, up to 25%<br />
of industrial energy demand is used<br />
for drying, associated with gigantic<br />
CO 2<br />
emissions.<br />
For resource-saving material<br />
drying, AquAero has developed<br />
PURESteamDrying®. The scalable<br />
technology enables continuous drying<br />
at highest energy efficiency, independent<br />
of fossil fuels, without CO2 emissions<br />
and with water recovery. The<br />
primary market is mineral processing.<br />
Innovation promotion<br />
The special feature of the Swiss<br />
Innovation Challenge is that it is an<br />
innovation promotion program<br />
with a competition. From more<br />
than 100 innovation projects, in the<br />
course of three elimination rounds<br />
("Pitches") 20 finalists and one<br />
winner ("Award Winner") are<br />
chosen. The participants of the<br />
competition are SMEs and start-ups<br />
from all over Switzerland. In<br />
addition to the Award, participants<br />
can win special prizes. The competition<br />
lasts eight months. During<br />
this time, participants can attend<br />
free, user-oriented seminars.<br />
Participants also have access to<br />
mentoring and coaching programs,<br />
where they are supported and<br />
encouraged with practice-oriented<br />
knowledge. In addition to these<br />
benefits, participants and their<br />
