Annual Report 2022
The needs of people requiring supported accommodation throughout the
year were broad ranging and complex and included; housing, mental health,
addiction, physical health, dual diagnosis, domestic and sexual violence, life
skills & tenancy sustainment support.
While fewer people were able to access STA services throughout the year,
more people were supported with advice and information, prevention and
tenancy sustainment services. Additionally, the number of clients presenting
to Street Outreach was higher than ever, with up to 40 people per night
presenting to the service in Limerick city. Our dedicated Street Outreach
volunteer team are supported by out-of-hours and health and wellbeing
staff to support clients presenting with more complex needs. People present
to street outreach for a variety of reasons. Some people are rough sleeping
and experiencing street homelessness, for others the meal they receive is
the difference between being able to pay their rent or not and for others the
nightly interaction with volunteers and other clients may be their only social
connection of that day.
