Broad and Balanced...
EYFS
EYFS have been busy exploring Autumn, enjoying some new books and being creative. They
have settled into school life well and are now confident in navigating the school.
The children have been exploring ‘Leaf Man’ this week. They have used leaves and other
natural objects to create collages. They have also been using primary colours to make
autumnal colours. Lots of the children have also collected leaves and made their own leaf
people to go on adventures. The children have created simple maps, showing where their leaf
people have been, including over mountains, oceans and fields!
In Maths, the children have been learning how to subitise up to three. They were challenged
to spot groups of three objects and have been collecting things. They have also been
exploring capacity, using different containers in the water tray.
The children have continued to impress the staff in phonics and have now covered all of the
single letter sounds. Fred has been very cheeky though, sneaking around school, causing
mischief and then telling us all about his adventures!
In Drawing Club, the children have expanded their vocabulary and have been using some
very impressive words such as accelerate, hazard and chomp to name just a few! The secret
codes have been very funny and have meant our pictures have come alive.
