HOCKEY
The Ludgvan Lightning Hockey Team competed in the first round of the Penwith Primary
Hockey League on Thursday. All of the players worked as a solid team during 4 ten-minute
matches to secure well deserved victories. Ludgvan finished just behind the league
leaders on the day and can be proud of their performance - going into round two already in
2nd place!
CROSS COUNTRY
On Tuesday 10th October, a team of cross country runners attended the first event of the
year and cross country season at Mounts Bay Academy. The children took part in their age
groups and each race had at least 50 children from across Penwith in it. Our children did
extremely well in this event and we had 90% of the team coming in the top 20 race positions
for their age groups. A huge well done to Walter who led the Year 4 race all the way around,
but was just overtaken at the last second, leaving him in silver medal position! A similar thing
happened to Kai (who wasn’t in the event until lunch time that day), who should have come
3rd, but slowed down at the finish line thinking he was done!
This was the first event both boys have taken part in for cross country. With a bit of
practise, we will get them across the finish line in the position they deserve. Great effort!
I was so impressed with all of the children and the positions they came, but mostly how they
cheered each other on and how they supported friends from other schools by cheering them
on too.
Well done to Evie W, Siena, Milo, Freddie, Walter, Elmer, Alfie, Ivy, Elowyn, Kai, Harry K,
Maison, and Sennen.
