Mental Health<br />

We recognised World Mental Health Day on 10th October.<br />

We have been really proud of the children’s mature attitude to this.<br />

We were particularly impressed with their definition of what mental health is.<br />

Positive mental health enables you to deal with challenges, have a go at new things, make<br />

friends and communicate effectively, be open-minded, feel good about yourself and lead a<br />

happy life.<br />

This term each class will be having an age-appropriate session with an<br />

Educational Mental Health Practitioner.<br />

They will be exploring in more detail what mental health is and<br />

how they can achieve good mental health.<br />

The classes that have already had the sessions have found them useful and have some<br />

strategies they can use to help them when they feel negative emotions.<br />

There are some great resources online that you can use at home to support conversations<br />

around mental health and issues that might affect mental health.<br />
