A word from the Principal...
Dear Families,
It seems like we have only just begun this academic year and yet, here we are at the end of the first half
term. Starting a new year can be a really big change for many children, with new adults to form relationships
with as well as new academic expectations and a different classroom. However, all children have settled in
really well to their new classes and they are all well set to make the most of the rest of the year.
Since the pandemic, attendance has been a focus for all schools across the country as it is considerably lower
than before COVID. Our aim is for attendance across the school to be 96%, which would be broadly in line
with pre-pandemic standards. So far this year, our attendance has shown significant improvements from
22/23 and currently sits at 95.3%, so we are almost at target. We appreciate that children will undoubtedly
have bouts of illness that mean they are not absent from school, but please continue to try to avoid booking
holidays in term time. Thank you.
Thank you to the FLS for organising and running our discos this week. The children had a great time as
always! I’d also like to thank all of the volunteers who helped Claire and the team, it was brilliant to see so
many people giving up their time to provide this opportunity for the children.
We will be hosting a tour of the school for parents with children starting school in September 24. The tour
will take place on the 7th November at 0930 and it would be greatly appreciated if you could share this with
anyone you know who may be interested.
