STARS Center Benefits Fair
As part of our outreach to members at their assignments,
ALADS brought our Benefits Fair to STARS Center. ALADS
vendors including Body Scan, Anthem Blue Cross, First City
Credit Union, Rose Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary, Legal
Shield, LAPFCU and POPA Federal Credit Union were on hand
to assist members.
During the Benefits Fair, ALADS President Richard Pippin and
VP Thomas Ferguson manned the ALADS booth to answer
famous taco guy cook up delicious beef, chicken, and pork
tacos along with some tasty rice and beans.
Keep an eye out for email blasts notifying members of the next
Benefits Fair. If you would like a Benefits Fair at your assignment,
call the ALADS front desk at (323) 213-4005 and we will
look into scheduling one.
One of the most important things we do at the Benefits Fair is to
make sure that members have updated their PORF Insurance
beneficiaries. PORF includes a $125,000 life insurance policy
benefit that ALADS and PPOA negotiated for members. You
signed up for it while you were in the academy. If you have
gotten married/divorced, or had children since graduating
from the academy, you should update your PORF Beneficiaries.

ALADS Visits Lancaster and Palmdale Stations
ALADS took its RV to Lancaster and Palmdale Stations on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. We set up our mobile office in
Specialist Mike Prince and Field Representatives Dondrea McAllister and Melissa Chavira were on hand to answer
and Palmdale, and to more assignments.
