McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Four Peaks
The World-Famous Fountain, our
namesake, is the focal point of
community celebrations and a great
source of pride for residents. At its
full height of 560 feet, the fountain
is higher than the Washington
Monument and three times as high
as Old Faithful in Yellowstone Park.
View it in Fountain Park at the top of
the hour from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for 15
minutes, or watch the live stream 24
hours a day at experiencefountainhills.
org/thefountain.
Mountain Ranges surround you. Look
to the northeast and you’ll see majestic,
purple-hued Four Peaks, part of the
Mazatzal Mountains, with elevations
ranging from 1,900 to 7,657 feet.
In the West, you’ll see the McDowell
Mountain Range, which comprises
some of the oldest rocks in Arizona,
rising as high as 4,034 feet.
Northwest vistas include the 2,830 foot
Red Mountain known for the dramatic
red glow it gives off during the last few
hours of the day.
