McDOWELL MOUNTAIN REGIONAL PARK<br />

McDowell Mountain Regional Park has over 50 miles of<br />

trails with beautiful desert scenery for hiking, mountain<br />

biking, and horseback riding. This over 21,000-acre<br />

regional park is located four miles north of <strong>Fountain</strong> <strong>Hills</strong>.<br />

For mountain bikers, the competitive track has three loop<br />

tracks; a long loop – 8.2 miles, a sport loop – 3.0 miles,<br />

and a technical loop – 2.9 miles. A pump track has been<br />

added to the Competitive Track trailhead. This twisting<br />

combination of table tops, rollers, and banked turns is a<br />

great way to improve weight shifting and bike handling<br />

skills. For campers, McDowell Mountain Park has 76<br />

individual sites for tent or RV camping. The developed<br />

sites accommodate up to a 45-foot RV. Restrooms offer<br />

For family-friendly fun, jump from sprinkler to sprinkler in<br />

our splash pad, or spread out your blanket for a Movie in<br />

the Park! The Town features four different parks - Desert<br />

Vista Park, <strong>Fountain</strong> Park, Four Peaks Park, and Golden<br />

Eagle Park - for your outdoor recreation enjoyment. Get<br />

outside and enjoy all they have to offer. <strong>Fountain</strong> <strong>Hills</strong> has<br />

been described as one of the most pet-friendly towns in the<br />

valley. So bring your furry friends to Desert Vista Dog Park<br />

SAGUARO LAKE<br />

Saguaro Lake, twenty<br />

<strong>Hills</strong>, is one of the most<br />

popular recreation sites in<br />

the Tonto National Forest.<br />

The golden cliffs and rugged<br />

shoreline of Saguaro Lake<br />

are a spectacular setting<br />

for outdoor activities. At the<br />

Lakeshore Restaurant, diners have incredible views indoors<br />

or outdoors. Boat rentals can be arranged at Precision<br />

Marine, which also carries bait, tackle, and marine supplies.<br />

Horseback riding, kayaking, and tubing are offered at<br />

Saguaro Lake Ranch, below the dam. For fishermen, the<br />

lake is stocked with plenty of walleye, largemouth and<br />

yellow bass, rainbow and brown trout, bluegills, channel<br />

TONTO NATIONAL FOREST<br />

Located only minutes away is Tonto National Forest. With<br />

two of Arizona’s largest and most scenic rivers, six lakes, and<br />

landscapes ranging from desert to pine forests and high<br />

mountain peaks, the forest offers a wide range of recreation<br />

opportunities: swimming, boating, hiking, camping, rafting,<br />
