BladeShelter –
a Full Composition
Vertical cable manager
Integrated data center solutions improve data center
efficiency, scalability and security, optimize costs, and are
easier to manage. R&M has now brought together the
BladeShelter infrastructure from R&M Tecnosteel with its
cabling solutions.
BladeShelter is a product line from R&M
Tecnosteel, R&M’s latest acquisition, which
was developed for data centers with low
power consumption and high thermal stress.
The modular, scalable racks are based on
the T7 PLUS rack system. It now has a static
load-bearing capacity of 1,800 kg and offers
cold/hot separation. The doors are perforated
and provide 82 % air permeability and
concurrent high mechanical security against
access. To minimize power consumption, the
BladeShelter Cube modular enclosure system
is part of the product family. The scalable
system separates hot air flow from cold air,
thus ensuring maximum energy efficiency.
Perfectly cooled and always in view
BladeShelter Cooling provides modular, scalable
cooling units for cooling the infrastructure.
They are in line with the racks, dissipate heat
at the point of origin and thus achieve optimum
efficiency. Another important element
is the smart ActiPower 4.0 multi-plug, with
which the operator can keep an eye on their
energy consumption and prevent failure due
to line overload.
Perfect cable organization
One of the most important details is the cable
routing. The BladeShelter Runner cabling
solution mounted on the roof of the racks
guides the fiber optic, copper and power cables
into physically separated areas in order to
minimize transmission or mechanical interference.
Last but not least, well-organized cable
management is one of the key factors for the
efficient operation of a data center. To this
end, the latest development R&M has come
up with is vertical cable management for the
rack. The vertical channels are attached to the
horizontal profiles. This leads to efficient use
of space and good air circulation, prevents
tangled cables, enables flexible scalability,
and makes troubleshooting simpler. A solid
basis for further technological developments
in this area.
