Embley Sixth Form Prospectus

Student leadership is central to the
success of Embley and its students. As
well as taking leadership of your own
learning, you can apply for a range of
positions to lead school-wide initiatives
and manage our student body. You will
gain real-world skills and experiences
that will give you the knowledge, ability
and confidence to become an emerging
leader, take on new challenges and
influence others to make change happen.
Formal roles of responsibility
include our Heads of School;
ambassadorial roles for
the arts, STEM, global
affairs and sport which
are connected to subject
departments; and boarding
and pastoral prefect roles.
Our Student Council
meetings are modelled on
House of Commons Select
Committees, with the Heads
of School as chair.
Other leadership roles
include mentoring younger
students, organising and
running school events and
supporting the roll out of our
co-curricular programme,
such as our Royal Institution
Mathematics Masterclasses
and our sailing and skiing
programmes.
With the support of your
tutor and teachers, you
will be encouraged to set
personal growth targets and
develop an entrepreneurial
mindset, to think critically
and decisively, network with
confidence and build positive
relationships.
