OVERVIEW<br />
Develop your understanding of the<br />
design and manufacture of objects<br />
and artefacts including traditional<br />
and modern products, architecture<br />
and furniture. During this course you<br />
will explore different material areas,<br />
investigate manufacturing methods<br />
and broaden your skills in manipulating<br />
a wide variety of tools and equipment<br />
within the workshop. This will include<br />
developing cutting, shaping and<br />
finishing skills using a range of materials<br />
including timbers, polymers and metals.<br />
You will also develop your digital<br />
technical drawing skills and use of<br />
CADCAM which will enable you to<br />
become a competitor within the global<br />
design and technology environment.<br />
OVERVIEW<br />
This is a wonderful course for anyone<br />
who likes working and experimenting<br />
with textiles. You will design and<br />
construct garments and learn techniques<br />
including sewing and embellishing<br />
machines, hot textiles, hand embroidery,<br />
felting, weaving, quilting, dying and<br />
batik. You will experiment using our<br />
print making facilities which include drypoint<br />
etching, collagraph, lino, gel plate<br />
and silk screen.<br />

This subject can help lead to a wide range<br />
of degrees and careers including fashion<br />
design, surface pattern design. fashion<br />
merchandising, pattern cutting and<br />
costume design.<br />
