OCTOBER IN VENICE There are several reasons to recommend a visit to Venice, even more so if it falls in the month of October. First and foremost, the mild climate that heralds the winter season but also offers the pleasures that only a few cities can provide. But what to recommend?... Without a doubt, the simplest things. For example, getting intoxicated by a lagoon sunset or strolling until you get lost (only to find yourself again) along the labyrinth of alleys; crossing the Grand Canal by water aboard one of the last gondola ferries or being captivated by the multitude of shop windows and boutiques, or yet, enjoying an aperitif, a coffee, an ice cream, a dinner while savoring the city's small squares or climbing one of the many bell towers and being enchanted by a bird's-eye view.

• 37. WIZZ AIR VENICE-MARATHON
Stra (Riviera del Brenta) - Venezia: 22 ottobre.
Classico appuntamento con una delle più importanti
maratone italiane sviluppata su un suggestivo
tracciato che dalla splendida cornice antistante
la Villa Pisani di Stra accompagnerà gli atleti
fino alla Piazza di San Marco.
Il percorso della gara si snoderà attraverso la suggestiva
Riviera del Brenta, i centri di Marghera e
Mestre e il Parco di San Giuliano per sfociare in
laguna dal Ponte della Libertà.
Qui gli atleti passeranno per le fondamenta delle
Zattere (lungo il Canale della Giudecca) per raggiungere
Punta della Dogana dove, da un ponte
galleggiante, attraverseranno Il Canal Grande per
raggiungere Piazza San Marco e infine il traguardo
in Riva Sette Martiri.
Nel programma della giornata si inseriranno:
- ExpoVillage, la fiera mercato dedicata allo sport
e al tempo libero presso il Parco di San Giuliano;
- Family Run Mestre, una gara non competitiva
dedicata a ragazzi e famiglie;
- VM10K, la corsa non competitiva aperta a tutti
negli ultimi 10 km della maratona con partenza da
Parco San Giuliano e arrivo in Riva Sette Martiri.
Tra le iniziative il VM Charity Program a sostegno
di progetti e attività volti alla solidarietà.

Spaces around Town, 19 - 28 October.
Autumn edition of the annual rendez-vous dedicated
to excellence on the territory in the field
of high craftsmanship, of design and fashion,
with presented events, performances, fashion,
shows, conferences and exhibitions.
The event will takeplace amongst palaces, art
gallery, and public venues in Venice.

• VENICE COCKTAIL WEEK.
Spaces around Town, 23 - 29 October.
This original event, involving the best cocktail
bars in Venice, is back on the lagoon for its third
edition. Amongst its novel features, this year will
see the Night Shift, a series of evenings open to
everyone with internationally famed guests.
Cultural initiatives and recreational activities are
scheduled for professionals and enthusiasts, for
discovering a different Venice.
Events open to all in the VCW23 cocktail bars and
hotel bars with internationally famed guests.

• WIZZ AIR VENICE-MARATHON
Stra, Brenta Riviera - Venice: Sunday 22 October.
37th edition of one of the most established Italian
marathons.
The race itinerary, which will depart from the
splendid framing of the (formerly royal) Villa
Pisani at Stra, will wind along the suggestive
Brenta Riviera, the centres of Marghera and Mestre
and the Park of San Giuliano, reaching Venice
along the Ponte della Libertà. Here athletes will
run on the Zattere quaysides, reaching Punta della
Dogana, where they will cross the Grand Canal
over a purposely-built floating bridge.
The programme also features various collateral
events including the VM10K, a non-competitive
race open to all in the final 10 kms of the marathon.
The initiatives also include the VM Charity
Program, a programme supporting projects and
activities aimed at solidarity.
