OCTOBER IN VENICE There are several reasons to recommend a visit to Venice, even more so if it falls in the month of October. First and foremost, the mild climate that heralds the winter season but also offers the pleasures that only a few cities can provide. But what to recommend?... Without a doubt, the simplest things. For example, getting intoxicated by a lagoon sunset or strolling until you get lost (only to find yourself again) along the labyrinth of alleys; crossing the Grand Canal by water aboard one of the last gondola ferries or being captivated by the multitude of shop windows and boutiques, or yet, enjoying an aperitif, a coffee, an ice cream, a dinner while savoring the city's small squares or climbing one of the many bell towers and being enchanted by a bird's-eye view.

che inizia domenica
1 ottobre con Festa della Riunificazione
della Germania, prosegue
il 6 con la presentazione
del romanzo di Mario Merigo e
il 7 con la proiezione del film di
Istvàn Szabò, per continuare il
21 con le lettura di liriche delle
poetesse Anita Menegozzo e
Konstanze Petersmann.
Il 28 ottobre l’appuntamento
sarà invece con la presentazione
del romanzo di Gesa
Schröder. L’evento di maggior
risalto sarà il 14 ottobre quando
le sale di del palazzo si trasformeranno
in palcoscenico per
celebrare il 180° anniversario
della regina Elisabeth zu Wied,
meglio conosciuta come Carmen
Sylva (vedi dettagli nella
pagina a lato).
Ingresso con prenotazione obbligatoria
entro 2 giorni dall’evento.
LO SQUERO
It is an October full of events, organised
by the Italo-German Cultural Association,
beginning on Sunday 1st
October with German Reunification
Day, continuing on the 6th with the
presentation of Mario Merigo’s novel
and on the 7th with the screening
of Istvàn Szabò’s film, then continuing
on the 21st with the reading of
poems by poets Anita Menegozzo
and Konstanze Petersmann.
On 28 October instead the rendez-vous
will be with the presentation
of Gesa Schröder’s novel, but
the most notable event will be on
14 October, when the halls at Palazzo
Albrizzi-Capello will be a stage
to celebrate the 180th anniversary
of Queen Elisabeth zu Wied, better
known as Carmen Silva. (see details
on the facing page).

imbarcazioni, prosegue la sua
attività con due concerti organizzati
da Asolo Musica.
Il 7 ottobre il palcoscenico ospiterà
il Quartetto Venezia e il 21
ottobre il pianista Gile Bae.

The Giorgio Cini Foundation’s “Lo
Squero” Auditorium, an ancient
boat-repairs workshop, is continuing
its activity with two concerts organized
by Asolo Musica.
On 7 October the stage will host the
Quartetto Venezia and on 21 October
pianist Gile Bae.
