This is recognition of the high-quality standards we set in computing education at Cardinal Hume and theresults that have been achieved. Our focus is on thespecific needs of schools in the Tees Valley and Durham to make a real difference to the teaching on offer to youngpeople in our region.Cardinal Hume Catholic School is extremely proud to be an SLP. They consistently exceed nationalaverages at GCSE and make outstanding progress. 70% of our students study at language at GCSE and in 2023,40% of them achieved grades 9-7.BWCET Centre for TeachingCardinal Hume Catholic School is a lead school in the BWCET Centre for Teaching and is proud of the workit does to help develop both existing and the future generation of teachers.This opportunity allows the school to access and deliver cutting edge training, research and development opportunitiesfor our staff including the National Professional Qualifications. The Centre for Teaching helps to facilitate Initial teachertraining through a variety of accredited partner providers. Collaboration within and beyond our Trust are powerful toolsfor securing excellence.3D Health and Fitness3D Health and Fitness Cardinal Hume opened in April 2017, providing fantastic facilities for theschool and wider community.The site consists of a fully equipped gym, exercise class studio as well as Cardinal Hume’s existing facilities includingsports hall, astro-turf pitches, MUGA, climbing wall and dance studio. As a result, Cardinal Hume is a thriving centre forsport and fitness activity well beyond the school day, and at weekends, for the people of Gateshead.2627
