CHAIR’S WELCOME
Welcome to IEC 2023! And welcome to the week to show off our industry and
ourselves. So much has changed since 2020, and the Rubber Division of the
American Chemical Society is embracing the new path. Walk the expo floor and
seek out the new by sometimes revisiting the past. Participate in the programs
offered to all attendees. Do something different. Make this your objective and we can almost
promise this show can increase your success and network.
We have some exciting new things taking place at IEC this year!
• Expo Theater Presentations featuring various topics and companies will be taking place
in the Expo Theater throughout expo hours Tuesday through Thursday. Topics include
sustainability, PFAS regulations, commodity petrochemical markets, supply chain and more.

• Our Career Catalysts on Wednesday and Thursday include half hour presentations in the
Expo Theater designed to help you take your career to the next level by providing the tools
and guidance you need to succeed. They will help you make positive changes and move
forward in your career. The facilitator will also offer meeting times for consultation and
resume review.
• The Business of Rubber event on Wednesday will provide key industry insights and
perspectives that are focused on the business/commercial side of our industry. Neil

Mendes, CEO of Alpine Polytech will give a presentation titled Global Energy Transition: Market Overview and Demands on
Non-Metallics.
• Young Professionals events – We encourage young professionals (those under 40 years of age) to join us at the Young
Professionals Forum Tuesday. Our goal is to gain insight from you so we can exceed your expectations as a young professional
in our industry. Young professionals are also invited to a YP reception Wednesday 5 – 7 p.m. All are invited to attend the Young
Professionals Panel taking place in the Expo Theater Wednesday where young professionals will share their thoughts on what
motivates them when searching for a job, what attracted them to our industry, what they view as the biggest obstacles to their
success in our industry and much more.
IEC 2023 Cleveland is filled with many opportunities to increase your knowledge, expand your network and create new business
opportunities while strengthening current ones. Be present. Say hello to the new faces. And stop by the Rubber Division, ACS
booth for a moment with some members of the team. We would enjoy the opportunity to help you make this the best conference
you have attended. IEC comes once a year. Make it happen.
