Differential Diagnosis
• DCIS with extravasated mucin
– No epithelial component is present in mucin
– Prior FNA and biopsy!
• Benign mucocele-like mucocele like tumor
– Extravasated mucin with multiple dilated cysts lined by
flat bland epithelium
– No tumor floater or rare cells (+ myoepithelial cells)
– Large, granular calcification
• Cystic hypersecretory hyperplasia
– Ectatic ducts filled by eosinophilic, colloid like secretion
