Adenomyoepithelioma of the Breast • Adenomyoepitheliomas well documented. • Breast masses (2 to 3 cm), same pt. ages as Inv. Duct Ca. • Firm to rubbery, can mimic carcinoma grossly. • Biphasic: luminal epithelial cells + myoepithelial cells. • Myoepithelial cells may predominate, necrosis may be present, mitotic activity can be brisk. • Majority benign (Rosen), but can recur locally. • BUT, occasional malignant examples causing death. • Malignant: high mitotic rates and cytoatypia.
