How can we support children in conflict areas?

praised by his teachers for being a
bright child. But instead of going to
school, young Rahul had to go to
work, as the schools in India. were
closed due to the pandemic,
Every morning, in the outskirts of the city Tumukaru,
groups of children were on the street. Rather than
holding a backpack, each child held a filthy plastic sack.
These children, aged 6-14 years old, were sent there to
collect potentially recyclable materials such as plastic
in the middle of glass and cement shards. With no
protection. Some were even barefoot which led to
bleeding feet. For this work, they got about a few cents
per hour, which barely helped their family survive.
In many parts of the developing world, school closures
put children on the streets. Families were desperate
for money. Children were an easy source of cheap
labour.
