Cynthia Buckner Gill Scholarship Endowment
Established and Funded November 2022
Bill Wilson established the Cynthia Buckner Gill Scholarship
Endowment to honor Dr. Cynthia “Cindy” Gill-Sams, professor
of communications sciences and oral health in the College of
Health Sciences. Dr. Gill-Sams is a renowned speech-language
pathologist having dedicated the last two decades of her
career to providing speech therapy training both nationally
and internationally. The Cynthia Buckner Gill Scholarship
Endowment is a tribute to Dr. Gill-Sam’s exceptional mentorship
and achievements. The gift supports students pursuing a
Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. Recipients
of the award will have the desire to pave new ways to serve the
unserved just as Dr. Gill-Sams has done throughout her career.
Feyten-Wick Health & Wellbeing Champion Award Endowment
Established December 2021; Funded December 2022
Chancellor and President Carine M. Feyten and her husband
Chad P. Wick created the Feyten-Wick Health & Wellbeing
Champion Award Endowment to enhance Texas Woman’s
Health and Wellbeing Initiative and to recognize the important
role of TWU staff members. The initiative was established in
2015 with the goal to improve the lives of TWU’s community
members, and in 2017 the effort was staffed with an inaugural
director and a team of campus leaders devoted to building the
university-wide effort. This new endowment will provide awards
to staff members who exceed expectations in or consistently
exemplify commitment to one or more areas of the initiative.
Each year, one exempt and one non-exempt staff member will be
named recipients as part of TWU’s faculty and staff excellence
awards program.
