Bassac Pandaw

1920s character • Exploratory itineraries

The Pandaw fleet are replicas of colonial-era

steamers, finished in teak and brass in a 1920s

style. Their shallow draft makes it possible to

cruise to otherwise inaccessible areas of the

Mekong. The Bassac Pandaw sails between

Cambodia and Vietnam, accommodating

guests across 30 staterooms – each with

private deck space. Asian and European cuisine

is served in the dining room, which is open to

the gentle breeze during the day and closed

and air-conditioned come the night. On the

upper deck, you can clink glasses at the cocktail

bar, or enjoy the views from the sun deck –

part-shaded by an awning. Further facilities

include a library, a lecture room, a gallery, and

a fair-trade shop. There are optional activities

as well as cultural performances to enliven life

on board.

Pandaw Expeditions

Jayavarman

Named after the 12th-century Khmer king, Jayavarman plies the Lower

Mekong between Cambodia and Vietnam, offering three-, four-, and

seven-night expeditions. Its interior incorporates French-colonial and

Khmer designs into décor that is distinctly art deco. Each of the 27

cabins boasts a private river-view balcony. Facilities include a salon and

spa; an observatory; a dining room; a bar and lounge; a library; and a

sun deck with pool.

Jahan

This Heritage Line vessel is the sister ship to the Jayavarman and named

in honour of Shah Jahan – the 16th-century Mughal ruler and conceiver

of the Taj Mahal. Traditional Indian and British-colonial styling runs

throughout, from the 26 cabins to the Raj-inspired lounge. Further

facilities onboard the Jahan include a restaurant serving Asian fusion

cuisine; a bar mixing signature cocktails; a spa; an outdoor pool; a gym;

and an observatory.
