With a multidisciplinary practice
grounded in painting and drawing, Lia
incorporates embroidery, collages, and
installations to explore and interrogate
cultural identities, transcultural
influences, gender roles, social
standards, aesthetics, borders, and
permeability. She uses the domestic
space and its relationship with the
natural world as a model for this
investigation, and ornamentation as
the visual language that better evokes
symbolic links between these worlds.
