I’m sure we can all recollect what a tough time exam season was - and how dramatic we may have felt about the impact of those results on our lives - only to realise in the fullness of time, it’s not the sole thing that makes or breaks a life’s trajectory. Here in the office, we’ve been comparing all our own results stories, and whether they were ones of celebration or commiseration, we all agree that, with hindsight, we can look back at our school experience and observe how it has shaped us, but not that it defined us. It seems only right to reflect on school as we come into open day season - if you have children or grandchildren still on their educational journey, we have some advice to help choose the right school. On the foodie side of things this edition, we have an interview with Michelin chef Aktar Islam, plus some delicious recipes for the autumn. If you have visitors descending at Christmas, or you just want to make some improvements ahead of the festive season, you’ll enjoy our home pages this edition. Please don’t forget to check our website for our bumper crop of competitions. That’s all from me - I’m sorry to say that the next time you see us, we will be in Christmas mode. Fair warning!
