Today, Lynnwood Arts is anactive, inclusive and accessible space forworkshops, events, children’s programming,and exhibitions. The trail is typically covered by treesand shaded from the sun. Simcoe History
After visiting in 1795, Lieutenant-Governor
Simcoe granted local land to Aaron Culver.
A hamlet formed by 1812 but was razed by
Americans in 1814. From 1819-23, Culver
laid out a village which he named “Simcoe.”
LYNNWOOD ARTS
Built in 1850 for Duncan Campbell, Simcoe’s
first postmaster, the home was donated to
the town of Simcoe in 1902. In 1972, the
building was designated a National Historic
Site of Canada and became Lynnwood
Arts Centre. Today, Lynnwood Arts is an
active, inclusive and accessible space for
workshops, events, children’s programming,
and exhibitions. Lynnwood Arts houses a
permanent collection of over 800 works and
features local, regional and national artists.

The Lynn Valley Trail is located on the former
