D
ie Berge sind voll von Geschichten und
Mythen. Ungezähmt mäanderte die Isonta in
einem Tal, das von hohem Schilf bedeckt war -
eine einzige Urlandschaft. Vor etwa 2.100 Jahren
war hier der Lebensraum der Ambisonten: „Die
an der Isonta (Salzach) lebten“ - so nannten sie
damals den Fluss und diesen Keltenstamm. Der
Talboden mit seinen vielen sumpfigen Stellen war
unbewohnbar, so lebte man in kleinen höher
gelegenen Holzhäusern. Das Naglköpfl eignete
sich bestens dazu: Von hier aus, strategisch
genial, ließ sich das gesamte Tal überschauen.
Sie hat smaragdgrüne Augen, lange Haare und als
Druidin trägt sie ein wunderschön gesticktes
Kleid und edlen Schmuck, unsere Keltenfee
„Isonta“. Die ersten Sonnenstrahlen färben das
Naglköpfl in weiches Licht und vom Tal steigen
die letzten Nebelfetzen hoch. Sie liegt entspannt
auf einer Holzliege und trinkt genussvoll ihre
geliebte Ziegenmilch aus einer schön verzierten
Tonschale aus Venedig. Der Schönheit wegen tupft
sie sich die letzten Tropfen auf Wangen und Stirn.
Sie will Blumen pflücken und ihre aus Tauerngold
gefertigte Kugel damit umhüllen. Die einzelnen
Blumen werden mit einem selbstgesponnenen
Wollfaden verknüpft. So bittet sie für dieses Jahr um
eine gute Ernte, heute sollen Mond und Sterne
in einer günstigen Konstellation stehen. Sie bricht auf
um Wurzeln und Kräuter zum Heilen zu sammeln…
Für Warenaustausch und ein paar wenige Luxusgegenstände
führten die Wege der Ambisonten
über die Alpen bis nach Venedig! Die Tage waren
bestimmt von Bewegung, hauptsächlich zur Nahrungsbeschaffung,
wie Jagd, Ackerbau und Kultivierung
der Urlandschaft.
Von damals bis heute haben 70 Generationen an
dem gearbeitet, was wir heute so lieben: kultiviert
und gepflegt in allen Richtungen, bis hinauf zu
den wunderschönen Almböden. Und in der
Kernzone des Nationalparks Hohe Tauern lassen
wir die Natur selbst Regie führen.

The mountains are full of history and legend.
The Isonta meanders unhandled in a valley,
which was covered with high reeds – a primeval
landscape. About 2,100 years ago it was here
the living space of the Ambisonten: „Those, who
lived by the Isonta (Salzach) – the river and this
Celtic tribe were called. The valley floor with its
many boggy places was uninhabitable, so the
people lived in small upper lying wooden houses.
The Naglköpfl was perfectly situated: From there,
strategic genial, they had been able to overview
the whole valley.
She has smaragd green eyes, long hair and as a
druid she wears a beautiful embroidered dress
and fine jewellery, our Celtic fairy “Isonta”. The
first rays of sunglight bathe the Naglköpfl in a soft
light and from the valley the last fog patches
rise. She relaxes on a wooden lounger and drinks
appreciatively goat´s milk out of shell, which
comes from Venice. Due to beauty she dabs the
last drops on her cheeks and forehead.
She would like to gather flowers and wants to
wrap her Tauerngold ball with them. The single
flowers get knot together with a strand of wool.
This way she bets for a good harvest, today the
moon and the stars are in a favourably constellation.
She starts to collect roots and herbs that she
needs for healing…
The ways of the Ambisonten, which lead them
over the Alps even till Venice, were for exchange
of goods and even for some luxury goods. The
days were full of movement, mainly for finding
food, like hunting, farming and cultivation of the
primeval landscape.
From that time until today had been 70 generations
working on what we love today: Even high
up at the wonderful alp soils everything is well
kept in all directions. Additionally in the core area
of the Hohe Tauern National Park the director is
nature itself.
A real delight for all of our senses.

in ruhiger Lage, wenige Gehminuten vom Niedernsiller Freizeitzentrum

urkundlich erwähnt wurde, entstanden die Tauernsuites Mitterwirt by
Alps Residence. Seit August 2018 begrüßen wir Sie direkt im Zentrum
von Piesendorf in 28 modernen Appartements.
Für höchsten Wohnkomfort ist gesorgt: In den voll ausgestatteten Suiten
(von 33 bis 158 m², alle mit Balkon, Terrasse oder Garten) finden 2 bis 8
Personen Raum zum Wohlfühlen. Die nötige Entspannung nach einem
aktiven Urlaubstag erleben Sie im Wellnessbereich mit Saunen,
Fitness- und Ruheraum. Kulinarische Schmankerl werden im Restaurant
Mitterwirt serviert.

For centuries, Mitterwirt was a traditional guesthouse located at the village
center of Piesendorf. In August 2018 it reopened as the newly renovated
“Tauernsuites Mitterwirt” – with 28 modern apartments and
a spacious wellness area.
The fully equipped suites offer enough space for 2 to 8 persons to enjoy
comfort at highest level and to feel at home during your holidays (33 – 158
sqm, all of them with balcony, garden or terrace). After an active day you
