City Of Joy!

Dedicated to Sir C. V. Raman
Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman, the Indian physicist who made his
motherland proud by becoming the first Indian to win the Nobel Prize
for Physics, was a scientist par excellence. He displayed a brilliant mind
even as a child and passed his matriculation examination at a much
younger age as compared to other students. With a series of
experiments on the scattering of light which ultimately led to what came
to be known as the ‘Raman Effect’ for which he won the Nobel Prize in
Physics. The IACS entered a new phase with the emergence in the scene
of C V Raman in 1907.

Again comes the year and here we are yet again bearing the thrilling
excitement to present this 2nd edition of our very own Sanjeevani Magazine
on the occasion of SPECTRA 2023.
We, as a part of this magazine committee, take utmost pleasure in expressing
our gratitude towards the dynamic guidance of our Respected Director Dr. V.
Ravichandiran Sir, respected faculty, beloved seniors juniors for their
exceptional supervision and help in making this magazine come into
existence.
We hope that this SPECTRA brings the colours of youth ,spirit, joy and
togetherness into your lives. We also wish that this SANJEEVANI , brings out
the excellence in you and unleash the inner budding artist because art is
indeed the beauty of life and variety is a spice of life.

Apart from excellence in curriculum and research we also aim to flourish the
budding artists in students for that purpose this magazine idea was put
forward.
We cordially present and dedicate this ‘’SANJEEVANI’’ to all of you. We hope
that your presence adds a new spectra of colours to the canvas of life for
everyone to relish.
Let the Euphoria begin and let us walk through the paths of darkness with
thoughts full of colors and having this SANJEEVANI with us.

Editorial Message
Over the last two and half decades, students
of NIPER system have carved a unique niche for
themselves in the arena of pharmaceutical
research and development. Since 2007, the
students of NIPER Kolkata are also contributing
overwhelmingly. Success in pharmaceutical R&D
calls for exemplary display of team spirit,

patience, intuition with creativity, time
management, and immaculate strategic Chief Editor
planning.
To enhance these qualities, NIPER Kolkata strives to provide а
congenial environment to the students so that they can develop into allround
individuals.
The annual exhibits- Spectra and Sanjeevani – are the two versatile
media wherein NIPER Kolkata student express their full creativity and
unleash their potential in diverse fields of arts, culture and sports. We are
delighted that in this year edition, students of NIPER-Hajipur are also
joining us in the celebration.
Sanjeevani 2k23 presents a colourful bouquet of life and events of
NIPER-Kolkata and collection of poems, poses, photography, paintings of
NIPER - Kolkata students and staff members.
We are hopeful that you will find the edition enjoyable and shower

SPECTRA 2023
This year, we had a range of astonishing and wonderful activities with the
active participation of faculty members, administrative departments, and
students.
A variety of sports activities were organized for game enthusiasts, including
cricket, volleyball, badminton, athletics, carrom, chess, table tennis, and
football.
Everyone displayed their individual as well as team spirit on the field, making
it a wonderful time. We congratulate all the winners and extend our
appreciation to those who participated. Students and teachers worked hand
in hand and played a major role in making the sports week a cheerful
voyage. In addition, we organized various indoor competitions such as
painting, photography, and sketching to encourage the budding artists
among our students. We received outstanding artistic compositions, and we
are delighted to showcase them.
Last but not the least, the cultural events. Inauguration of cultural events,
prize distribution and magazine release was done with an auspicious lamp
lighting ceremony. Everybody rocked their world with the breathtaking
performances and ravishing fashion shows. The cultural events indeed
flourished out the dancing divas out of the participants. The fashion show
was so indulging that everyone walked their heart on the ramp. Spectra, full
of colours, youth, and prosperity, was a time of togetherness that will always
be cherished in the hearts of Niperians. Through this Sanjeevani magazine
we wish to cherish and preserve these memories together and forever with
us and within us .

"SPECTRA 2023 gives me the pleasure to inform you that the
institute is going to inaugurate its magazine “Sanjeevani’ 2023
second edition on the occasion of SPECTRA 2023, Cultural and
Sports fest.
NIPER supports not only academic excellence but also fosters
the all-around development of students which includes physical
and co-curricular activities. As we all know the magazine is the
mirror of activities done in the institution throughout the year
and has been compiled by vibrant activities of student’s team.
We have witnessed the enormous energy and participation which was visible during
the entire SPECTRA 2023 week. This year we had the opportunity of sharing this joy
and energy with the students of NIPER Hajipur as they have joined us in making this
Spectra even more colorful and vibrant. Our students of NIPER Kolkata and NIPER
Hajipur hand in hand participated and made this event merrier than ever. I
acknowledge the efforts of the Spectra team and team Sanjeevani for the successful
conduct of the annual cultural and sports events of NIPER Kolkata.
Education is a natural harmonious and progressive development of innate powers and,
I, believe such events complement the holistic growth of the students.

It is indeed a great pleasure to know that NIPER Kolkata is going
to release second edition of Annual Magazine “Sanjeevani’ 2023
on the occasion of Annual Sports and cultural Events, SPECTRA
2023. I congratulate the members of the organizing committee for
continuing the initiative and creating culture.
Apart from academic potential, students have skill & talent in
various fields. I am happy that the Institute is successful in
motivating a majority of the students to participate in various
sports activities and zeal of the students regarding sports activities
has been exponentially increasing every year. Happy to note that
NIPER-Hajipur students are joining with us to share their sports
tempo.
This event will boost up the moral & self-confidence of the students which will facilitate to
include harmonious, coordinated, cooperative, untidiness, belongingness, & culture in the
students. Hope, this magazine not only makes you aware about the events in our Institute but

About NIPER Kolkata
National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Kolkata (NIPER-
K) was established in 2007 under the aegis of the Ministry of Chemicals &
Fertilizer as a center of excellence for higher education, research and
development in Pharmaceutical Sciences. NIPERs are conceived to provide
leadership in pharmaceutical sciences and related areas not only within the
country, but also to the countries in South East Asia, South Asia, and Africa.
NIPER is a member of the Association of Indian Universities and Association of
Commonwealth Universities to become a globally recognized brand. The main
objective of the institute is to offer the following programs. M.S. (Pharm.), M.
Tech and Ph.D. The institute started with M.S (Pharm) in 3 disciplines viz
Medicinal Chemistry, Natural Products and Pharmacoinformatics in the year
2007. Subsequently 2 new courses were added – Pharmacology & Toxicology
(2018), Pharmaceutics (2020). Ph D programme in this institute commenced
from the academic year 2016 in 3 disciplines (Medicinal Chemistry, Natural
Products, and Pharmacoinformatics), Pharmacology & Toxicology (2018),
Pharmaceutics (2020), Medical Devices (2021) and Pharmaceutical Analysis
(2022).

Spectra 2023
Come and join us at Spectra 2023,
A time to rejoice, a time to be free.
A festival of sports, a festival of arts,
Where the students of NIPER-K show their hearts.
From cricket to carrom, from badminton to race,
The athletes compete with a smile on their face.
Post docs, PhDs, Masters students too,
All take part, and show what they can do.
But the games are just one part of the show,
Because the cultural events soon start to flow.
Dance, drama, and music fills the air,
The moment students across India perform their share.
The traditional fashion show, a sight to behold,
As students in their cultural clothes unfold.

Where creativity flows and imagination comes true.

Being human let’s not just dominate,

As this planet belongs equally to all of it’s species,
Along with the forests, mountains, lakes and seas.
Let’s aware ourselves about the conservation,
So, there is an ecological restoration.
So all the species coexist with peace,
And the future generations would learn this with ease.

काम के ेशर म थके हारे भूखे भी सो जाते है
घरवाले परेशान न हो इनक फकर म
इसी लए म ठ क ं बड़ी आसानी से कह देते है ।
सफ ब टया ही नही, बेटे भी पराए होते है !
खाने म सौ नखरे करने वाले
अब खुद पकाके क ा प का खा लेते है ।
बाप के डांटने पर मां से शकायत करने वाले
अब जमाने के सौ नखरे भी सह लेते है ।
बहन को छोट छोट बात पर तंग करने वाले
अब उसी बहन को याद करके रो लेते है ।
मां क बाजू पर सर रखकर सोने वाले
अब बगैर ब तर के ही सो लेते है ।
सफ ब टया ही नह , बेटे भी पराए होते है!
मोह ले क ग लयां, जाने पहचाने रा ते
जहां दौड़ा करते थे अपनो के वा ते,
सब पीछे छू ट जाते है, त हाई म
करके याद अके ले म आसू बहाते है ।
कु छ दन क छु य म जब घर जाते है,
तो अपने ही घर के यह मेहमान कहलाते है ।

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the coordinators of the sports,
cultural, and magazine committees for smoothly conducting NIPER Kolkata’s very
own annual sports and cultural event, Spectra 2023. Your dedication, hard work, and
enthusiasm have made the event a great success.
We would also like to extend our appreciation to all the students who participated in
the event with full zeal and enthusiasm and cooperated with the coordinators to
make it a grand success. Your energy and interest were the driving force behind the
success of Spectra 2023.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Director for his visionary
approach towards bringing other NIPERs in this event.
We would also like to express our thankfulness to the Registrar for reclassifying the
participating teams in this event by merging all departments together. This has
given a feel of united NIPERians and has fostered a spirit of camaraderie among us.
We are indebted to the guidance, help and support received from our teachers,
administrative staff, librarian and the IT team in organizing this grand event.
The publication of Sanjeevani magazine during the event was also a great initiative,
and we would like to thank the magazine committee for putting together such a
wonderful magazine that captured the essence of our campus life and events
throughout the year.
Finally, we would like to say that we are grateful for your support and cooperation,
and we look forward to more support and participation from all of you in the
upcoming editions of Spectra. Together, we can make it an even bigger success.
