RMI Will See You at Convention
It doesn’t seem as though it’s been a
year, yet here we are – all of us ready to
connect and join together at the LMA’s
Annual Convention again. This year,
we’ll be in Alexandria at the Randolph
Riverfront Center.
As a sponsor and vendor, we look forward
to talking with you about the
many services we can offer, and how
those services can not only assist your
municipalities, but also save you money.

We’ll also be holding a convention
workshop on Saturday, August 5. We’ll
discuss “Municipal Risks – How RMI Has
Your Back.” RMI has been the servicing
arm of the LMA Self-Insured Funds for
over 35 years.
This session will discuss the daily risks
that municipalities face, as well as how
to prepare for reducing these exposures
and address how to respond
when incidents arise. We will provide
the tools and training needed to meet
the coverage demands of Louisiana
municipalities.
So, make sure you stop by and visit us
at our booth, say hello when you come
to our workshop, or stop us if you see
us walking by.

best utilize to save you money and unwanted

Clerks Corner
Summer is in full swing, and I hope everyone
is taking the time to make memories
with their families!
The 86th LMA Annual Convention will be
held in Alexandria on August 3-5, 2023.
The LMCA will have a booth on-site,
which is a great time for us to promote
our Clerk’s Association. The LMCA is not
only an organization, but also a family
unit that is here to support one another.
I am asking for volunteers to assist with
our table during the convention. This is
a great time to network with new clerks
and mayors and tell them the great things
our association has to offer. Volunteers
are needed at the following time slots on
Thursday August 3, 2023, from 10-11a.m.,
11a.m.-12p.m., 12-1p.m., 1-2p.m., 3-4p.m.
and 4-5p.m. On Friday, we need volunteers
from 8-9a.m., 9-10a.m., 10-11a.m.,
and 11a.m.-12p.m. Please check your
schedules and volunteer.
SAVE THE DATE!
The 47th Annual Louisiana Municipal
Clerk Institute will be held on October 22-
27, 2023, at the Embassy Suites in Baton
Rouge. This year we are offering several
Gloria King Memorial Scholarships and
the Mayor Eugene Smith Memorial La-
MATS Scholarship to help with the cost
of attending the institute. If you are interested
in applying, please visit www.lma.
org/LMCA, then choose the Membership
tab on the home page. The deadline to
submit LMCA scholarship applications is
Friday, August 25.
IMPORTANT: The deadline for submission
of certification applications is Friday, August
25, 2023. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS for
certifications received after this date. Certifications
must be received by mail by that
date, not emailed, faxed, or postmarked.
