CSG Parish Council
win an award
The Parish Council were delighted to receive
the Local Council Foundation Level Award at
the Council meeting on Wednesday 7th June
2023.
The Local Council Award Scheme (LCAS) has
been designed to celebrate the successes of
the very best local councils and to provide a
framework to support all local councils to improve
and develop to meet their full potential. The
scheme offers councils the opportunity to show
that they meet the standards set by the sector
and put in place the conditions for continued
improvement.
The award was presented to Councillor Gordon
Patrick BEM by the Chief Executive Officer of
Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Association
of Local Councils, Mel Woof.

Mel explained that the award is judged nationally
and is the first step on a journey to achieve gold
accreditation. There are only five councils out
of 240 in the Buckinghamshire region who have
achieved an award in this scheme.
Mel congratulated the Clerk for her work towards
achieving the award and also thanked the Council
for having the right ethos and commitment to
want to achieve the best for their parishioners.

Why not come and join us?
Sadly, a couple of our long-standing councillors
have now left the parish council, and we are
looking for some new recruits.
You don’t need any special experience – just
enthusiasm! Any training needed will be provided
and you only need to live or work in the village
and be over age 18 to qualify. We meet once a
month on the second Wednesday in the village
hall in Cokes Lane, starting at 7.30pm.
At these meetings we discuss various issues
affecting Little Chalfont and its residents, which can
vary between thoughtless parking and speeding
drivers to the building of a new village hall.
Parish councillors also attend the planning
meetings, held every three weeks, to discuss local
planning applications. We advise Bucks Council of
any matters concerning local residents who could
be affected by these plans.
The work is all voluntary and can be very varied,
so if you would like to learn more about our work,
why not come along to a meeting and see it in
operation for yourself? No need to let us know
in advance – members of the public are always
welcome to any meeting at any time, so drop in
when you can to see for yourself. The next parish
council meetings are scheduled for 12 July and 9
August. See you there!
