Kigutu Hospital is a women’s hospital recently completed in a ruralarea in Burundi, Africa, in partnership with Village Health Worksas well as landscape architecture consulting from Stantec. Thehospital will offer maternity and emergency care for women in animpoverished part of Africa. It was designed with passive designprinciples to reduce its energy intensity and construction costs.My role on the project was to help produce a set of workingconstruction drawings as the design developed, as well as buildsome of the master digital Rhino model used for the renderingsdepicted here (produced in partnership with Stantec). I was alsoassigned to propose dffferent design iterations for the exterior pickupand drop-off area, seating and landscaping.33 80
