3 | PERSONALISED LENS MEASUREMENT GUIDE FRAME SELECTION
The purpose of personalised measurements is to offer your patient
the very best in tailored vision. One size does not fit all, we strongly
advise that you take fresh measurements for each personalised lens
that you dispense.
By doing so you ensure that the chosen dispensed frame allows the
lenses to sit in the optimum position therefore delivering the best
vision.
FRAME SELECTION
FRAME ADJUSTMENT
Frame Frontal Bow
5mm
Select a frame that is right for the face, stable on the nose and offers
sufficient height between the pupil and the lower rim of the frame.
• Please fit the frame as if the patient was collecting.
i.e. perfect frame fit at the point of dispense.
MEASURING WRAP ANGLE
Please take new measurements when dispensing.
Average values above will be used if no measurements are provided.
Popular Short 14mm 15/16
With all dispenses, minimal decentration of the lens will always
deliver better aesthetic results. When helping a patient to choose
their eyewear, please pay particular attention to where the pupil
sits behind each lens, a centrally sitting pupil will require less
decentration when glazing.
Horizontal and vertical pupil position will impact overall
edge and centre thickness.
For all progressive dispenses, please ensure that there is a minimum
clearance of 10mm from the fitting cross to the top rim of the chosen
frame.
When ordering online click on ‘Thickness’ for smart simulated lens
edge and centre substance.
• Length to bend - please ensure that the sides of each
frame sit correctly on and behind the patients ears.
• Ensure the frame sits level on the patients face,
adjust accordingly the angle of each side to achieve
a symmetric and level fit.
• If the frame has independent nose pads,
please ensure that these are adjusted so that the frame
sits perfectly on the patients nose.
MEASUREMENT ADVICE
Corridor Length: An 18mm and above corridor is
considered very deep for a personalised lens dispense.
Ideal for patients who require a a larger area for intermediate vision
tasks. Please note the reading area will appear much lower down in
the lens.
Hints & Tips
Please ensure your chosen corridor lengths fit the frame.
Fitting Height: Please measure the vertical
heights from the bottom rim of the chosen frame
to the patients pupil centre.
We recommend obtaining fresh measurements for each dispense
due to the fact that numerous new designer fashion frames
may lack the optimal tilt and bow for progressive lens dispenses.
These personalized measurements customize the lens production
process, guaranteeing optimal vision regardless
of the chosen frame.
