Mel Kendal is new Chairman

of the Board of Trustees

At our recent AGM Prof. Paul

Dodson stood down after

eight years as Chairman of

the Board

Paul was a committed chair

who has worked tirelessly

to ensure Oakhaven has

remained an integral part of the

community it serves. He passes

the baton to Melville Kendal,

former Leader and Chairman

of New Forest District Council

and a former Deputy Leader and

Chairman of Hampshire County

Council who has in addition served

on the board of Trustees and as

Treasurer of the Hospice.

Oakhaven would like to thank

Paul for his efforts throughout his

time as chairman and welcomes

Mel to the role.

Make new friends at the

Widowed Friendship Club

WFC is a friendly and welcoming group of people who have

all been through the trauma of losing their other half

We know just what you

are going through and

how hard it is coping

with the ups and downs it brings.

Whether it be having to learn to

cook or having to take on the sole

responsibility of the finances of

the home, we have all been there

and are still on that journey.

We meet at Pennington Chase

on the 1st Saturday and the

3rd Sunday of the month, for a

cup of tea, a natter and lots of

laughs and this helps us to make

new friends. As a group we also

fundraise for the Hospice and

support the work they do, over

the last year they have raised

over £1800 for Oakhaven, thank

you so much.

Craft Shop

thank you

Sadly our craft shop is

closing but thanks to the

generosity of the owner

who offered us the use of the

shop rent free, since we opened

our doors 4 years ago the shop

has raised £200k profit for the

Hospice.
