A Safe Haven
a jigsaw puzzle for Oakhaven
We are delighted to present an exclusive and limited edition
1000-piece Oakhaven jigsaw puzzle by Anne Gooch
A self-taught amateur artist,
Anne loves watercolours and
painting outdoors, and has been
a volunteer at Oakhaven for nine
years. As a retired community
palliative care sister she
understands more than most the
therapeutic value of creative arts
in end of life care, often providing
a language that words cannot
express.
Volunteering with the Acorn
Project, Anne shares her
enthusiasm, encouragement
and skills with day hospice
patients and school children of
all ages and abilities, creating
wonderful large and small scale
collaborative art together.
‘A Safe Haven’ started life as a
preparatory inspiration piece for
The Acorn Project, but over time
Anne developed it into a delicate
study of the hospice. Now Anne
has very kindly donated this
beautiful watercolour painting to
be turned into a unique limited
edition jigsaw puzzle with all
profits donated to the hospice.
‘A Safe Haven’ is a stunning
representation of the hospice
in winter, perfectly capturing
the peace and tranquility of
the gardens. The gardens are
a place to be still and reflect
through difficult times, a haven
to be enjoyed by patients,
families, staff and volunteers
all year round. Included in the
foreground of the painting,
seated on the bench are Phoebe
and John Coates the founders
of the hospice, reflecting on the
unique legacy their family home
has provided for patients in the
New Forest area.
Priced at £20 this jigsaw will
make a perfect Christmas
present. It is available
to pre-order now via the
Fundraising department
on 01590 677773 and will
be available to buy via the
website from September
2023. Don’t miss out!
