Our story<br />
<strong>Cinas</strong> was founded under the name Carl J. Nielsen<br />
in 1903.<br />
Since the 1980s, the company has developed<br />
into the design, import and distribution company<br />
that we see today.<br />
All of our products are made with carefully<br />
selected manufacturers in the Far East, where the<br />
cooperation has functioned for generations.<br />
High-quality requirements are incorporated into this<br />
network, ensuring that our products always live up<br />
to our quality and finishing standards.<br />
We focus on furniture and accessories that<br />
emphasize their simplicity and functional<br />
expression, but still with a stylish edge with our<br />
design philosophy in mind.<br />

We use Java teakwood to manufacture our<br />
furniture. Among the other hardwoods commonly<br />
used for outdoor furniture, many are<br />
referred to as ‘teak substitutes’. But there is no<br />
substitute for teak, and in outdoor conditions,<br />
no other hardwood in the world performs to<br />
the same high quality standards as teak. Simply<br />
put, teak is the best hardwood in the world for<br />
untreated wooden outdoor furniture.<br />
With its balanced natural oil content, mahogany has proved itself over time as<br />
the best material for painted outdoor furniture. Prior to assembly, we apply several layers of paint<br />
to each component to ensure optimal protection and outdoor<br />
resistance. This strong smooth painted surface highlights the knowing modern<br />
lines of each piece of <strong>Cinas</strong> furniture.<br />

For consumers and producers alike, it can be difficult to know whether a piece of timber comes from a sustainable forest.<br />
To help ensure that we are sourcing timber responsibly, <strong>Cinas</strong> supports certification systems that document its path from the<br />
forest, all the way to the consumer. As a minimum <strong>Cinas</strong> requirement, all teak and mahogany used in our products comes<br />
with a V-legal document from the Indonesian government agency Perum Perhutani.<br />

Our powder-coated aluminum furniture is<br />
rustproof, easy to clean, and requires only minimum<br />
maintenance. All <strong>Cinas</strong> aluminum frames<br />
are offered in our classical ‘glossy powder coating’,<br />
with several items now also available in<br />
a contemporary new ‘matt anthracite powder<br />
coating’. Combine various types of tables, seating<br />
types and cushions to create a selection for<br />
your every mood and preference.<br />

Our flexible U-shaped polypropylene<br />
lamellas feature our own unique<br />
T-shaped grip system for easy insertion<br />
in a rail inside an aluminum frame.<br />
Our garden umbrellas are water-repellent and<br />
treated for UV+50 resistance. Poles are available<br />
in teak color hardwood and aluminium, with<br />
several size options to suit a variety of applications.<br />
The hub and runner are made of strong<br />
polyresin, and fittings have a satin finish. The<br />
umbrella fabric is reinforced with double<br />
stitching, and leather patches enhance<br />
the strength of the corner pockets. Choose covers<br />
to suit your market: Standard Polyester (235gr/<br />
m 2 ) or Olefin (210gr/m 2 ). Umbrella bases in concrete<br />
(including wheels) are available with the<br />
