• VITTORE CARPACCIO. Dipinti e Disegni
La Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia,
in collaborazione con la National
Art Gallery di Washington celebra a
Palazzo Ducale, a sessant’anni dalla
prima storica mostra del 1963, il grande
pittore della Serenissima che visse a cavallo
tra il Quattro e il Cinquecento.
La rassegna che segue quella di recente realizzata
a Washington, presenta quarantacinque
dipinti a tema religioso, profano o di genere (tra
essi alcuni di grandi dimensioni) che evidenziano
le grandi doti immaginative, narrative, descrittive,
oltre alla sapiente tecnica pittorica dell’artista.
Unitamente, un folto nucleo di disegni dimostra
la sua speciale capacità di “studiare” in maniera
minuziosa e dettagliata la realtà dell’epoca.
Curata da Peter Humfrey, Andrea Bellieni e
Gretchen Hirschauer la mostra sarà visibile al
pubblico fino al 18 giugno.

• EDMONDO BACCI. L'energia della luce.
Un’ottantina di opere, tra dipinti e disegni
inediti, provenienti dall’Archivio
Edmondo Bacci, musei e collezioni
private nazionali e internazionali, riportano
idealmente a Ca’ Venier dei
Leoni l’artista veneziano tanto caro a Peggy Guggenheim.
Curata da Chiara Bertola, la mostra si concentra
sul periodo più lirico e felice della produzione
di Bacci, ovvero gli anni ’50, che hanno segnato
il successo nonché la consacrazione dell’artista,
avvenuta nel 1958 nel corso della XXIX Biennale
Internazionale d’Arte di Venezia.
Tra le opere esposte quella che Alfred Barr, allora
direttore del Museum of Modern Art di New
York, acquistò nel 1953. La tela, nota come “Avvenimento
13 R”, oggi parte della collezione del museo
newyorkese, ritorna eccezionalmente in Italia,
per essere esposta per la prima volta al pubblico.
La mostra chiude con un'importante opera di Tiepolo,
tributo alla tradizione pittorica veneziana.

Edmondo Bacci Avvenimento #247, 1956
• VITTORE CARPACCIO. Paintings and Drawings
Sixty years after the first historic exhibition in
1963, the Venice City Museums Foundation, in
collaboration with the Washington National Art
Gallery, is celebrating this Serene Republic’s
great painter who lived between the Fifteenth
and Sixteenth centuries, at the Ducal Palace.
Following the recent one in Washington, this
showcase presents forty-five paintings with a religious,
secular or genre theme (with some largesized
ones among them), highlighting the artist’s
great imaginative, narrative and descriptive skills,
as well as his knowledgeable painting technique.
Collectively, a large group of drawings demonstrates
his special ability to "study" the reality of
the age in a meticulous and detailed manner.
The exhibition, by curators Peter Humfrey, Andrea
Bellieni and Gretchen Hirschauer, will be
visible to the public until 18 June.

Around eighty artworks, between unpublished
paintings and drawings, from the Edmondo Bacci
Archive, national and international museums
and private collections, ideally bringing back this
Venetian artist so dear to Peggy Guggenheim at
Ca' Venier dei Leoni.
By curator Chiara Bertola, the exhibition concentrates
on the most lyrical and happy period
in Bacci's production, or the 1950s, marking the
artist's success as well as his consecration, which
took place in 1958 during the 29th International
Art Biennale of Venice. Among the works
displayed, was the one which Alfred Barr, then
the director of the Museum of Modern Art in
New York, bought in 1953. This canvas, known
as "Event 13 R", and now part of the New York
museum collection, is returning exceptionally to
Italy to be exhibited in public for the first time.
