Use QUERY PENDING COMMANDS to display the comm<strong>and</strong>s that you have<br />

entered <strong>and</strong>, optionally, that others have entered for which the associated<br />

asynchronous function has not yet completed.<br />

ALLUSERS<br />

is an optional keyword that indicates that all pending comm<strong>and</strong>s for the<br />

specified devices are to be displayed, including pending comm<strong>and</strong>s that were<br />

not issued by you.<br />

ALL<br />

indicates that pending comm<strong>and</strong>s for all devices are to be displayed.<br />

rdev<br />

rdev1-rdev2<br />

is the real device number, a list of real device numbers, or a range of real<br />

device numbers of devices in the subsystems being queried.<br />

1. Many <strong>CP</strong> comm<strong>and</strong>s associated with DASD subsystems result in a channel<br />

program being issued to a device or subsystem. In most cases, these<br />

operations complete in a very short time, <strong>and</strong> the comm<strong>and</strong> response is<br />

presented to the operator immediately. However, for some cached DASD<br />

subsystems, some of these operations do not complete immediately. Use the<br />

QUERY PENDING COMMANDS comm<strong>and</strong> to display those comm<strong>and</strong>s that you have<br />

issued that have not yet completed. See “Delayed Responses to <strong>CP</strong><br />

<strong>Comm<strong>and</strong>s</strong>” on page 8 for further information <strong>and</strong> an example.<br />

Response 1:<br />

No pending comm<strong>and</strong>s exist.<br />

This response is displayed if QUERY PENDING COMMANDS ALL is issued <strong>and</strong> there are<br />

no pending comm<strong>and</strong>s.<br />
