QUERY OSA<br />

Responses<br />

If the system is using an OSA device that is in an intervention-required state <strong>and</strong><br />

you enter QUERY OSA, you see a response like this:<br />

A OSA 0300 intervention required.<br />

0300 is the real device number of the OSA device that needs the operator’s<br />

intervention.<br />

Note: This response will be preceded by one of the following.<br />

Response 1:<br />

If you enter QUERY OSA, QUERY OSA ACTIVE, or QUERY OSA ATTACHED <strong>and</strong><br />

there is an OSA device attached to the system, you see something like this:<br />

The first number is the real device number of the OSA device. The ATTACHED<br />

oper<strong>and</strong> might also read BOX/ATTC, which means that although the device is<br />

attached <strong>and</strong> dedicated to a user, it is unavailable. P<strong>VM</strong>, RSCS, T<strong>CP</strong>IP, <strong>and</strong> VTAM<br />

are user IDs to which the OSA devices are dedicated. The last number is the virtual<br />

device number which each virtual machine uses to refer to an OSA device.<br />

Response 2:<br />

If you enter a QUERY OSA FREE comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> there is a free OSA device<br />

attached to the system, you see something like this:<br />

The response for a QUERY OSA OFFLINE or QUERY OSA BOXED comm<strong>and</strong> is in<br />

the same format as the response for a QUERY OSA FREE comm<strong>and</strong>.<br />

Response 3:<br />

When you enter a QUERY OSA AGENT comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> there is an OSA AGENT<br />

attached to the system, you see something like this:<br />

Response 4:<br />
