The QUERY OBSERVER comm<strong>and</strong> has two formats, one for privilege classes A, B,<br />

<strong>and</strong> C <strong>and</strong> another for privilege class G.<br />

Use QUERY OBSERVER to display which virtual machine receives the line-mode<br />

output produced on your or another virtual machine’s console.<br />

* indicates that the issuer’s observer status is to be displayed. This is the default.<br />

ALL<br />

causes the identifiers <strong>and</strong> status of all observers to be displayed.<br />

userid<br />

is the user whose observer status is to be displayed. If you are a Class G user,<br />

you may only specify your own user IDs.<br />

1. The initial setting for your observer is determined by the CONSOLE statement<br />

in your user directory entry.<br />

2. You can use the class G version of the SET OBSERVER comm<strong>and</strong> to change<br />

the setting of your virtual machine’s observer. You can use the class A or C<br />

version of the SET OBSERVER comm<strong>and</strong> to change another virtual machine’s<br />

observer. For more information, see “SET OBSERVER” on page 1308.<br />
