The minidisk is the secondary device of a duplex pair.

If you specify LOCATION, CP displays information about the volume on which the
minidisk resides. For example:

gives you information about the:
v Device type of the real disk on which the minidisk resides; for a virtual disk in
storage, this is the device type of the device simulated in storage.
v Volume label of the real disk; for a virtual disk in storage, this is always (VDSK).
v Real device address of the disk; for a virtual disk in storage, this is always
VDSK.
v Starting offset of the minidisk (in cylinders or blocks) into the real disk; for a
virtual disk in storage, this is always 0.
v Size (in cylinders or blocks) of the minidisk.
HCP410E Command terminated; paging error
HCP1008E Device address is not a DASD
HCP1160E Device vdev has excessive indirect
links in CP directory.
